Australian state border restrictions

Has anyone successfully applied for the Entrycheck SA application?
I'm trying to help my elderly uncle with his application, there is an error with uploading the PDF certificate. I might have to try again with a different computer. He is from a level 3 (moderate) risk area if that makes a difference.
If anyone has done it, what is the time line for approval?

He uses the PDF printout when required but due to age and other factors, doesn't exactly go out all the time. Surely if there is an issue with the online application, he can show his ID and paper certificate if required.
Visit is in just over a week from now.
Notwithstanding @Pushka's comprehensive reply ... I applied for the EntryCheck permit this afternoon on my Mac. No issue loading the pdf into the system. I will let you know when the approval comes through.

AP is now claiming the feds have agreed to fund domestic travel PCR tests

Based on whose definition of hotspot? Federally (and in NSW and Vic) everything is green, there are no hotspots.

Who wants to gamble though, probably easier to spend the $70.

The wording is any testing required by a state health order.

There's no gamble, just go to a testing centre like you normally would. Why on earth would you want to pay for the same test? It's likely more convenient too to use the normal testing centres.

After reading the last few pages, and the SA government website, I am still totally confused about the testing requirement for travel to SA. Can I just get a free community PCR test in NSW and show the SMS result?

I'm also wondering this as I'm planning to spend less than 24 hours in SA next month. The lack of information is frustrating.
My experience of multiple short inter-state trips is that the requirement is only relevant if you are in that State. You do have to accept that you'll be bombarded with totally irrelevant text messages. I've hopped in and out of States, then back again, and been gone again by the time I'm getting messages telling me I haven't had Day One test, side by side with another text telling me I haven't had Day Five test.
In reality, it's all pointless. It's not a parking ticket, where they'll hunt down your heirs. None of the States are talking to each other. None of the departments within States are talking to each other. Hopefully, they'll all give up before they manage to get organised.

e.g. Tasmania where you can go to Melbourne and Sydney for 7 days and not require a test, but a person from Sydney can't go to Tasmania for a weekend without either (a) faking symptoms/lying to a health officer to get a free test or (b) paying $70++ to get a test.
Relax. Same for everyone. 🥳

Except on timeframe over Christmas public holidays, results guaranteed within 90 mins at SYD. Will keep monitoring situation with interest.

Maybe in that specific circumstance, but unless it was 24-26 Dec or NYE, I'd be pretty confident in NSW getting the result back in 24 hours.

Also likely fewer people will be tested in those times and few people starting travel, so quite possible turn around won't change at all.

I'm two hours drive from SYD anyway so not an option for me. I'd rather go to my "local" which is 500m down the street and run by Histopath anyway (same lab as SYD).

In the past 10 days, I've gone HBA-ADL-HBA, HBA-PER-HBA and HBA-BNE and only received a single text from Tas on 'day 3' of wherever return that was. Maybe the multiple text things are random pax selection?

And SMS results accepted for entry to SA (and presumably all other states). Good news!

All states have to accept the sms result.

Well that will be very easy :)

Big relief for all.

I have a feeling the checks are going to be even more cursory now!

Easy to forward sms to other members of your family / friends! So only one person needs to do test....

Word on SA FB page is that checks are indeed sproadic at Adelaide airport. I've asked for clarification though as all we see on TV are the rows and rows of desks and queues. Maybe the media are lazy and using file footage because that ramps up the angst more. And this morning they've confirmed - no queues no questions, the only queue being for Covid tests just outside the main door and which they just walked past. Same on the road. Waved through.

SA Police Commissioner on radio now. Without pinning his job on it he predicts 90% vaccination pre Christmas and then the removal is all restrictions. Clearly Marshall and he are planning a big Christmas annoucement. He sounded very optimistic.

This has been the plan all along. We opened up before 80% and we will open up completely before 90%. I’m tipping the Tuesday before Christmas will be open slather

What a pity. If the Feds are paying then the states can go stupid. If it was a cost the went back on to the traveller, then I’d expect that so many would decide not to travel that it would eventually impact jobs in the states, and then the likes of Anna might become reasonable.

In the lead up to an election you’re not going to have this issue become a hot topic.

At least Queensland has committed to remove it at 90 percent.

Well with you having stated that I really believe it! 😄
