Australian state border restrictions

We don't tend to do the Qld hotel quarantine thing here unless home or place of stay for isolation for 14 days isn't suitable. No doubt we will have action stations at the airport forming- right now. Last Friday night the airport was already as strict as it has been since Covid start up a year ago.
Now I am glad I ditched my (SYD) connecting flight and am heading to ADL directly from BNE. Hopefully they will go easy on us.

You need to fill out the online travel declaration after QLD formally withdraws Melbourne as a hotspot (note, travel declaration is different to border pass - as once Melbourne is no longer a hotspot, QLD will no longer have hotspots declared anywhere in VIC, and so the requirement is to have completed the online travel declaration rather than a 'border pass'). They don't make it easy... 😂
I'm heading to SA next week, applied for Border Pass & was denied.
Flying in from MEL, SA lifting Greater Mel restrictions on Friday.
Website says need to apply at least 7 days before arrival.

received email stating reply again after Friday 25th (when restrictions are eased). within my 7day window. Guessing it won't matter.

Seems the system can't realise that I'm entering SA after 25th June, even thou specifically input dates more than once in application.

I find it very hard to believe that VA, QF & JQ are claiming record pre-pandemic levels of flying pax.
With borders closing as they are & these varying website & restrictions / applications being necessary & their non-smarts, hmm.
I know so many fewer flyers than pre-pandemic.

They knew that husband had been in Bondi - from a trip back in April so he got quizzed about that. Then was asked if he'd been in Melbourne in last 14 days. He hadn't. Interview took about 5 minutes to do. This was the one when he asked whether they were asking about being vaccinated. They were not interested.

They may bring forward the opening to Melbourne. That was commented on in Today's briefing.

Most SA folk know not to follow the 7 day rule and apply either the day before or the day of travel. 🤣

So the bloke I know that was on QF739 has just texted and said he has to spend the night in HQ and will be returned to SYD tomorrow. Today was the first time in 2 years he had been to Sydney and was in the airport transiting from DBO for just a few hours. He can see the numerous side though remarkably 🤣

So are you saying he was only at the airport?

Airport transit, when transiting from intrastate flight would be irrelevant to WA. He was in NSW, period. Doesn't matter to WA whether he came from Bondi, Broken Hill, or Bourke. Cannot enter WA.

While that is true, QF739 goes to Adelaide.

Yes I figured as much, but still wondering what will happen to all those who booked yesterday/last night/this morning without checking the border entry requirements. I expect chaos.

Yep, he was coming to ADL.
As he had flown intrastate and had been in NSW he was denied entry. No option to stay and quarantine. The return QF flight was cancelled so they put him up for the night in ADL
