We do have a surge in SA right now so maybe a delay but I'd expect it back by early tomorrow if not by midnight tonight. Marshall mentioned five hours yesterday but likely he has no idea.
My understanding is that the majority of tests are being returned in the 5hr timeframe.
Drive through lineups on the other hand has reports of 4-6hr waits at some facilities but if you are prepared to do some research there are facilities with smaller lines

What's the best way to research? I wondered about driving around looking but figured the time spent looking might as well be spent queuing. My first drive through test. Didn't realise they moved so slowly. I did notice quite a few cars cruise by, consider, then drive off.
My last test at the airport was results under five hours, that's why I was surprised when they said 24 to 48 hours. Perhaps they were being cautious. Tomorrow will tell.

There is no real foolproof way unfortunately but often there are testing stations that are far quieter and I’ve found that most of the drive through stations are the busiest. Sometimes it is far quicker to drive around but that’s not always the case

The Clinpath one near Aldi at the airport is often quiet. The one to avoid is Vic Park

Yes, I mentioned the airport drive through earlier as being one of the better ones. Vic Park is definitely a no, no and I’ve found the one at Mile End often has long queues aswell

Interesting. When I asked at the airport, they recommended Vic Park. I was talking to a client and they recommended Hindmarsh (I'm thinking that'd be Mile End?) and that's where I went.
No-one mentioned that there was a drive through near the airport, which is why I come to Frequent Flyer for accurate advice :)

It’s a private Clinpath so not usually discussed by Govt people. But I’ve taken infant grandson there twice since well, Covid.

I love to travel

If I have worked it out correctly a 5 day trip to Adelaide from Queensland for Xmas with the underlying assumption that both will classify each other as hotspots by then will mean a total of 6 covid tests and at least 15 days of quarantine. I want to just not bother but then worry if I miss muns last Xmas etc,,,, If covid becomes so active I just don't see the point of the testing for interstate travel.

Yes, I’d say you were at the Clinpath drive through facility at Mile End

I’m hoping we have hit the 90% DD by then and all this garbage is wound back or even done away with completely

Nope, then it will be an aspirational 95% target, and then with a handful of cases, more restrictions, or even lockdowns, using reason as using 'an abundance of caution'.

I sincerely hope not. Marshall overruled the CHO yesterday and I think he knows the closer we get to the election that he needs to take back the reigns or he will be gone.

I've just spent an hour at the Vic Park one - they have changed the way the cars go in so when I pulled up I didn't think it would be that long but they now have the cars go around the back an drive through the way they came. I just have a cough and tight chest so thought I'd rather do it in the evening rather than in the sun tomorrow.

I think the public is on Marshall’s side now, I think the SA CHO looks increasingly unhinged…
It’s really hard to tell currently. Still a lot of “keep the border closed” and “we opened up too early” folk out there and he is copping heaps no matter what he does. Now that we are open though he has to stop this isolation garbage or there will be no one left to work at this rate. Businesses out there are actively advising staff not to QR check in for fear of them being thrown into isolation for daring to visit a place for 1 minute

I am hoping the nonsense stops too, but fear it will get worse. As soon as Qld opens and the case numbers start going up the doona dwellers will start howling in Qld too. And of course reciprocal hotspots.
