Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

NsW has never been closed to SA, I assume you meant the reverse?

If Sydney people still need multiple cobid tests during their SA visit it isn't fully open.
NSW and WA people no longer need tests to enter and stay. Ergo, NSW and WA is now fully open to SA. 🤷‍♀️

So it's SA that is now fully open to NSW and WA.

As NsW has always been fully open to SA, WA well who knows they don't seem to welcome anyone.

So other than the quarantine and most at risk (other than elderly) receiving Pfizer, do you see any other group receiving it given the number of doses ordered?
It will be Quarantine, front line health care (including those working in RACF) and probably not much more other than those able to travel to a hub in the initial roll out.
The Pfizer vaccine will not be going via GP and pharmac_ etc due to the storage requirements.
1B is all other health care and critical workers along with Aboriginal people over 55 and others over 70 and young adults with disabilities or medical conditions.
I would imagine the roll out will be constricted by supply at least initially. Not all of the hubs will be up and running on day 1

Classic... Sky News has cut from the SA CHO to CMO Paul Kelly. CHO won’t like that!

I only caught the tail end, but SA CHO going on about number of potential exposure sites in Melbourne etc and that’s why she made the decision. And then CMO Kelly’s comments that he’s confident it’s well under control due to those close contacts already all in isolation etc.

How the halo has fallen.

Yes, very unfortunate timing for the SA CHO she looks like a complete wally now - that plus the disaster of a radio interview from this morning has been syndicated all day.... the one with all the stuttering excuses.....

Police Commissioner getting slammed about the truck fatality.

As he should. It is on his hands if indeed he was the one that drove the slap dash decision.

Its absolutely horrific and was completely avoidable.

I don't think you will feel very well if you don't use your cpap machines for 14 days. Surely cpap machines aren't in the same category as nebulisers.
Agree that we won't feel all that spritely after 14 days of non usage. But we won't want to be with the other positive cases as Mrs Ric is diabetic. And as Princess Fiona stated earlier on, Meriton Zetland is a Medi-hotel and that was the one that we were hoping to get as daughter lives around the corner and drop care packages to us regularly. Yikes!! :(
News reports suggest they are.

Not sure authorities will trust that you won't use portable cpap machine. If it is in your possession on arrival, you will likely be directed to Health Hotel not sure if you can surrender it for period of HQ and retrieve on release.
Luckily we have a few sets around the places we are usually in. So we will not be bringing the machines we have here in Mnl as we have another set each in Sydney.

But Qld are strengthening the border pass to include requirements for mandatory test on arrival.

I am not sure which state you may be referring to but for Vic to Qld it is still only to be encouraged.

ie Their wording will be should, and not shall or must.

Also for Victorians the Border Permit should be updated by sometime this evening (It still has the old wording). Once it works Qld Health advises that it will take half day or longer for the pass to be issued.

If anyone is in doubt then call 13HEALTH as the website normally lags the actual requirement changes.

This is still on the SA Health website, is it just out of date?

People travelling to South Australia who have been in the Greater Sydney Region (as defined by the Greater Sydney Commission Act 2015 NSW), Central Coast Council or Wollongong City Council in the previous 14 days must:
  • get a COVID-19 test within 24 hours and self-quarantine until you receive a negative test result.
  • wear a surgical face mask at any time you come into contact with the public until you receive a negative test result.
  • get tested again on day 5 and day 12. There is no requirement to remain in quarantine after receiving a negative COVID-19 result in the first test (unless you have symptoms).
People travelling to South Australia from the Perth, Peel, or South West regions of Western Australia must:
  • get a COVID-19 test within 24 hours and self-quarantine until you receive a negative test result.
  • wear a surgical face mask at any time you come into contact with the public until you receive a negative test result.
  • get tested again on day 5 and day 12. There is no requirement to remain in quarantine after receiving a negative COVID-19 result in the first test (unless you have symptoms).

Changes don’t come into effect until Saturday midnight

WA has added a further 7 days to the hard border closure with Victoria
It's not really a hard border at the moment. You need to isolate for 14 days but you don't need and exemption to enter the state.

So The Age is being consistent as ever:

Firstly " that it "beggars belief" that a nebuliser was allowed to be used in hotel quarantine" (AMA president quoted in Age article) then later in same article "At least one expert has expressed scepticism over the theory detailed by Premier Daniel Andrews on Wednesday that a nebuliser was to blame for the Holiday Inn outbreak spread" (Professor Bruce Thompson, dean of health sciences at Swinburne).

So in summary , let's keep on playing politics with a virus that will exploit in any weakness and whilst we're at it who the flipping well knows what went wrong.

Someone needs to tell Adelaidenow.com.au

Border test rules dumped for NSW, WA visitors

Travellers coming to SA from WA or NSW will no longer need to undergo mandatory coronavirus tests. ( Ha ha they used a file photo of Steven Marshall from the Cherry Gardens fire and copying and pasting caught them out)

So in summary , let's keep on playing politics with a virus that will exploit in any weakness and whilst we're at it who the flipping well knows what went wrong.
So, in summary, let's keep going with ill-trained, poorly-resourced, incompetent staff.

I am not sure which state you may be referring to but for Vic to Qld it is still only to be encouraged.

There were conflicting statements made in different press interviews in Qld this morning as to whether it would remain recommended or become mandated requirement on the pass for certain people from greater Melbourne. ABC news blog posted they were seeking clarification from Qld government due to inconsistent statememts being made. Ive been mega busy at work (in office so no chance to listen myself) and havent had a chance to check blog for updates since i posted earlier.

Yes the media is often widly wrong.

Qld radio this mornimg as I am in Qld led with Qld Borders effectively close to Vic.

Which is why I rang 131HEALTH directly afterwards to get the real requirements.
