Masks aren’t mandatory in SA 😛
I always think it weird when I see their posters advertising their events and ask why they didn't already know?

This will be a kind of relief for dog owners. Hey @henleybeach - for your pooch. Go do the shopping.

"Police Commissioner Grant Stevens this morning said people could take their dog for a walk – but only if they were going out for an essential service.

“If you’re walking to the shops on your own for essential goods then the answer is yes (you can take your dog),” Mr Stevens said.

“We don’t want people to be smart coughs and manipulate this to do what they want to do.”

No I mean as in the common saying of being Yesterday's News

Something that was news, but people are no longer interested in.

Hence in Vic it is a good thing to be Yesterday's News with respect to Covid19
Lol.....these Vic DHHS twitter posts have been yesterday’s news for a while. I personally found little interest since NSW became the back marker.

Also NSW Health twitter posts are probably yesterday’s news.....but hopefully we’ll get to note Day 12 in a moment or so.

Hopefully SA gets things resolved quickly

Wow he needs some media training.... he's getting very angry and flustered.

At least the other two have improved a bit today, less stuttering!
He had to cancel his sons wedding on Saturday. Likely a lot of personal stress. Questions are very legitimate I think.

Good testing for NSW as well, maybe SA have scared them a bit.

NSW has out tested Vic for the last 2 weeks, despite fact that Vic is doing a blitz and NSW is BAU, nothing to worry about wrt NSW testing rates.

Last week NSW 106k of tests and Vic 93k tests.

If you want to worry about testing rates time to hassle Qld (31k for the week) and WA (who had multiple days in the last week of zeros testing). In addition to carrying the same risk as SA did wrt international flight arrivals, both Qld and WA have to be concerned about risk from shipping and the high number of exemptions for FIFO.

So the restrictions have been revised an hour ago. Again. And good news for animal lovers is that you can travel to feed your animals if there is no one else to care for them. There are additional services that can be open, like Hardware but Bunnings had shut their stores based on last nights advice. Not sure if they will open now for tradies and click and collect. They really have to provide a service for tradies in emergency situations. Like a broken toilet! 😱

That's good news (re animals). Just goes to show, even with all the work done in Victoria, things still fall through the gaps!

I've also heard a whisper that sewerage testing in VIC has found no sign of Covid.
They should be testing the sewage, and not the sewerage.

Edit: It’s not the infrastructure that they should be testing, but the waste contents

Maybe they’ve learnt from Victoria as well. Despite all the heat on Dan Andrews and his government, in a poll taken a few weeks ago the opposition leaders approval rating was about 15%!

I think people got sick of his constant negativity, but perhaps the electorate also saw through the political opportunism around the “private security decision” instead of trying to hold the government to account over the ill preparedness of DHHS.

Regardless, it’s a difficult time - in the middle of a “crisis” - for oppositions to make a mark, lest the be seen as opposing for the sake of opposing.

There's a time and a place for everything. What's done is done... trying to assign blame isn't helpful. What we wanted was people to fix the problem.

We have now seen with SA that Vic's problems weren't necessarily due to 100% incompetence. These things are going to happen depsite the best planning or rules in place.

Whichever whatever, knew I'd pick the wrong one.

We have testing in QLD? 😂

Its more a comment that NSW has active cases bubbling along in the outer suburbs, so its important with that strategy that testing remains very high and ongoing.... Dr Young said it was a part of her monitoring of NSW's performance.
