So a close contact who’s a worker at a Melbourne Kindergarten has refused to have Covid test and now the kids and families have to do 7 days iso ?

I can’t fathom why your principles (anti covid, anti vax or whatever) would override your decency as a human being? But there we have it.

@Raf_epstein

And moreso as it is only a test and not vaccination.

We’ll get to Europe before QLD

Otoh , us PERfectly healthy vaccinated Qldrs may get to Europe before we get to Sidderney…. ✈️ 😇

You'll be able to get to either with ease.

But you'll be in hotel quarantine when you get back if you leave QLD.

There's a whole conspiracy theory about the swabs and ethylene oxide to contend with.
I’m not familiar with this EthO angle …. Stupid me (was never taught this in medical school).. if I was a parent of that childcare centre I would vote with my feet …unless the centre has already reviewed the individual concerned’s suitability to work with children (who are a vulnerable group and for whom they act as loco parentis)... sad..for already stressed families and children.I hope they have another choice

Scott Morrison trying to say Gladys and Mark are both right simultaneously.

I'm so confused.

I know he's not good at the hard choices, but I'd have thought that ranked amongst the easier ones, it's a good job scotty's not really in charge of this. .

His head says Mark but his heart says Gladys

I guess we have to give the other states time to come to grips with reality.

Yea but he’s stuffed either way like who is your favourite child. Who cares just vaccinate!

I'm sure the fact that NSW will be 80% double jabbed around the same time WA & QLD will be 80% single jabbed has nothing to do with those states clinging to covid zero.

Surprised about Wollongong - Shellharbour/Kiama/Shoalhaven and Wollongong are pretty interconnected. Wouldnt a better boundary be the Royal NP/Sutherland?
I presume there was a careful study of marginal seats first.

Barilaro said it was a key part of the new permit scheme to have Central Coast and Shellharbour declared as outside Greater Sydney. People from central Coast going to Sydney and vice versa will need to have a valid permit on their persons.

I think some are getting a little carried away here.

Nothing was said that will give those in Central Coast & Shellharbour more freedoms. Keep in mind, restrictions in Bondi are exactly the same as regional NSW. Only the LGAs of concern have more restrictions.

This is an extra restriction to stop people travelling within the area they classify Greater Sydney. It is not the removal of any restrictions.

I think this is putting a ringfence around metropolitan Sydney to stop the spread, but there's no reason to believe those areas will be spared continued lockdown even if the statewide lockdown is lifted.

I have seen a meme that was shared, in a completely non ironic manner, of vaccine ingredients which included sodium chloride.
OMG😱😱😱
does that mean I can boost my immunity (organically) by eating fries with extra salt?
(posted with industrial dose of irony…😂😂)

Some very interesting points in this article. For example:

‘In order for a public health order to be persuasive, she [Julie Leask] says, it needs to appear reasonable and grounded in evidence and also appear effective. Rules that are crafted for ease of enforcement first, and epidemiological reasons second, can fail to meet that test.’

and in relation to curfews and mask wearing ‘But the problem is it’s a blunt instrument, it gets people offside. As far as possible we need to have public health orders that are grounded in epidemiological risk, not ease of behavioural management.’

also pointing out that people are just over it and fatigued with complying.

My parents live in Kiama and went into lockdown last weekend. Prior to that they were not allowed to go north to Shellharbour and were ok with that as they good still go south to Berry to see my grandmother and her sister (twins) who are 102. Hopefully I will get to the 103rd birthday.
