Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Not the Crossroads Hotel, but Crossways Hotel.

It is rather odd as Dr Chant spefically spoke on the Crossroads Hotel this morning during the presser where she said that there had been again another case at the Crossroads Hotel., and that QR Codes were a great asset.
This is actually bizarre. I didn't watch the press conference today. Is the CHO just handed a prepared script to read and has no actual knowledge of the venues involved?

Another thing I had been led to believe was that there was no manual handling of data in the NSW contact tracing system...this should all be based on the QR code submissions. So how can the CHO talk in the press conference about a wrong venue that is kilometres away from the correct venue?

I think you are a little ahead of yourself here. As an over 70, I booked for AZ as soon after 1B opened as I could and have not yet had second dose (booked for 2 weeks time). Prof Kelly said again the other day that over 70s were particularly vulnerable, and until 1B has had time for their second dose people should not be promoting ideas to let the virus go freely as yet.
And as a nearly 69 year old I feel I am probably just as vulnerable as a 70 year old. We chased getting vaccinated as hard as we could and actually managed to get vaccinated before 2A started. However we still have 17 days to go until we get our second jab and there is 2 weeks after that for it to really take effect.

Vaccine discussion has been deleted as off-topic.

This is the "Australian Reports of the Virus Spread" thread.

I heard Dr Chant make one mention of Crossroads yesterday, something like "and one new case at the crossroads" if there was extensive discussion today of a new case there I missed it.

The other time Dr Chant mentioned Crossroads was in relation to comparing outbreaks, and fact that Bondi cluster has over taken Crossroads in size (although Thai Rock is still larger).

Most of the commentary yesterday and today was on the seafood distributor at Marrickville.

It’s possible that someone from the seafood distributor handed over their run sheet and that’s how the crossroads mistake happened. Supplier deliveries wouldn’t use QR codes to check in.

NSW Health later updated the venue today.
Dr Chant was going off what the published venue was at the time. 83FB8341-72EE-4A95-A8AA-BA75BC54FD0E.png

And we don't get our second vaccination until late July.

Yes read from prepared script (so whomever wrote the script.....). Yes mentioned it as another case at the Crossroads Hotel, thanked the Hotel for their support, praised QR codes as a great asset etc...

At about 29;50

So the WA FIFO workers from the NT mine were infected by the worker from Bendigo who contracted the virus in Queensland on his way to the NT mine.

Have I got that right?

Yes, quite simple really. The thing to note, perhaps, is the leaky QLD HQ (perhaps unnecessary) that caused it...

Most likely yes. Though Qld Health have so far only confirmed it as a NT miner, and have not linked it officially to that outbreak.

Further COVID-19 case identified in Queensland

27 June 2021

This afternoon, Queensland Health has identified a further case of COVID-19 in the community.
The case was a miner who had returned from working in the Northern Territory, transited through Brisbane Airport on Friday night and travelled to the Sunshine Coast.
The mine worker was infectious in the community for around a day.

But, but...does this mean 24 hrs of tracing time has been lost for the correct venue?

Yet depending on where you live you can just walk in and get whatever you want whenever you want. That's part why the fed's vaccine rollout is a mess. I'm 2B and fully vaccinated Pfizer.

Apparently that’s the working hypothesis just now.

Of course there were 2 exposure sites in and around Bendigo as well, although some time ago now, and some fragments detected in the wastewater, so could an alternate theory be undetected transmission within Bendigo? Although the original negative test at the mine would suggest a very recent infection.

Well domestic travel is about to go down the toilet.

If Vic closes to QLD it’s game over. Only bits and bobs left to Tasmania and some internal domestic state flights.

Everyone back on stand down sadly with very little payment offered. Canberra is going to have to up that payment.

Possibly but if QR codes were used hard to imagine they contacted wrong people. Someone going to be in trouble.

Its strange as having been to Crossways (not the crossroads), the bar staff made me show proof of check in before taking my food and drink order.

Interesting - McGown seems to be indicating indirectly that the Perth restrictions are the fault of NSW.

The incorrect venue was identified yesterday at the time that greater Sydney went into lockdown. It was updated today.
So yes 24 hours late to start tracing but most if not everyone there at that time has been under stay at home orders.
