Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Hi MAL,

could you kindly explain how you did that? I can't figure out how you can get that many points and SC for ~A$450. It seems extremely good value for money!

Benhadi

Yeah on BA - not Qantas unfortunately. Need to return to Australia and grab some tax docco that I need, so why not earn ~42000 FF points + 120 SCs for ~$A450 while I'm at it :) Job hunting isn't going well, so in travelling mood at the moment.

The number of FF points is due to the 100% bonus by being a QF Platinum. I don't think the £215 Ashes special is available now. It was a promotion based on the number of runs scored by Australia in the 1st innings of the 2nd Ashes test.

JohnK is correct. Both BA and QF had a promotion in the UK for a discount fare to Australia (Sydney) based on the number of runs scored by Australia (Cost in pounds), and the number of runs scored by England (Number of tickets available) in the first innings of the Second Ashes match.

As Australia were all out for 215 in their first innings reply to England's 425 on Saturday, both British Airways and Qantas will be giving away 425 flights to Sydney for £215 - an amazing reduction on a typical fare of £730. The offer is available tomorrow* (July 21, 2009) on ba.com and Qantas.com.

The Qantas tickets went in about 5 mins, and I missed out. The BA ones took a lot longer to go - about 30 (due to some IT issues at their end it seems) and I easily got one.

Thanks MAL & JohnK.

While i'm on this thread, wondering if anybody is going to be at SYD on the 21 Aug. I'm catching a JQ flight to coughet at 13.55 but will be coming in from OOL that morning, got a few hours to burn at the airpot and would really love to into the FLounge as a guest. Mrs and I on our honeymoon. We have access to J Lounge but FLounge would obviously be a whole new experience. Thanks in advance.

Note you would need 2 people who are WP/OWE to guest you in, as WP's are only allowed to guest 1 person into the FLounge.

Oh i thought WPs are allowed to guest 2 people. Hmmm...that's going to be difficult then. Don't think my (new) Mrs is going to be very fond of me going into the FLounge by myself.

They are allowed 2 in the BLounge, but not the FLounge.

I would recommend against going in by yourself

I'm now a QP member but on these flights I'm travelling with my mum AND aunt. Thought I'd try my luck and see if anyone is willing to guest my second guest into the QP? If anyone can help please PM, thanks.
