ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Be careful with an ATO spend at that level, if that is a monthly payment amount then you run a real risk of losing this card as it is pushing close to the level where some have already had theirs cancelled... around the 200k level and you will be noticed, especially if there is not a "mixture" of normal spend on that card also. Remember this is a mum's & dad's card, so a ~200k spend per annum won't be the norm with them...

If you are not worried about losing it though, then just use it while you can :D

I've been running $10k or so per month of ATO through the card for a long time without issues, mixed in with lots of other spend, and no issues so far.

That said, I have been taking a few more "risks" and upping the monthly amounts a bit recently as I'm planning on canning the card soon anyway... I'd prefer to close it on my own terms rather than have it taken off me, but if they do, c'est la vie!

I assume you can. Last week I paid stamp duty on a commercial property we've just purchased:D....via the OSR* website.

Hi Guys,

I am late into this thread, after reading about 20 pages I thought it might be easier to ask: can anyone confirm if they get points for either CBA Diamond Cards or ANZ QFF Platinum Cards (and is this for the Amex or Visa, or both?)
Any info would be great - don't fancy payment the surcharge for nothing!

Thanks,
M

CBA diamond pays points for both the Amex & the MasterCard different earn rate & different surcharge at the ATO

I've put lots through with no problems

Sure strange that the Big 4 and their clones lead the way on this.
Party like there is no tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies - will give it a shot maybe half ANZ and half CBA to share the love (and spread the risk), presume there is no way around the surcharge from the ATO?

There have been hints on this forum that some have discovered this particular holy grail; not sure how much credence I would give to this. Certainly not widely advertised if someone has found a way.

Can anyone here with a NAB Velocity Premium (or even Qantas card) confirm if ATO points are posting? I've only just received this card and was hoping for some confirmation before my next lot of payments.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Despite looking at all available ways to do CC payments without the fee's I couldn't actually do it with the cards I have. However there are some cards which for example you can do Bpay payments from you would just need to confirm how your bank treats them eg. cash advance or not.

Sucked it up and paid the fee still ended up with a nice of points and with another $40k to pay this week more points on the way.

Qantas Business card here and yes. But not until the end of each billing cycle.

Well asg29e the closest I was to the holy grail was with Citi Select Kris Flyer where I was running up Kris Klyer points at 0.36 cents less a tax deduction for the fee so lets say it was about 0.2 cents a point. Then SQ introduce Suites on Saver points and 4 of us have been spoilt over and over thanks to the ATO.
No it wasn't the ultimate but I think I got warm and then ran cold when Citi stopped the points earning in April.
Amex Ultimate is getting hammered at the moment for Qantas points at about 0.98 cents per point less that tax credit so it is about half a cent a dollar.
