ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I can confirm that the Citibank Citibusiness Card is is dead with regard to ATO payments.

After paying a small amount and no points posting I rang up to receive the same line as has been reported for the Select.

Looks like bye bye citibank.

You people are sick :p - but I admit the voice is gorgeous and makes one wonder about what lies behind the dulcet tones . OK - I'm old-fashioned, I'll stick to the card portal.

Wow, using an internet payment portal is considered old-fashioned when compared to an automated phone system :)

Sideways question: has anyone had any points issues with Signature/Select used for NSW OSR payments?
There's been a couple of payments due already this year.
I'm concerned that it's considered the same category as ATO.

Do we know if it's just ATO payments that have had points earn removed by Citibank? Does it include bodies like ASIC etc.?

Apologies to all if this has been responded to, but I have spent a number of hours searching for the answer. In short

Could you advise how long you typically wait before reloading your credit cards when paying ATO or other large bills ?

E.g. pay 50k today (t=0) to ATO on CC
1) how long do you have to wait for this to count as 'credit card ' spend rather than from a pre-loaded card (which Iunderstand earns no points - please correct me if wrong on the below 3 cards)
2) and then do you need to wait any incremental days before repeating the process ?

cards in question are westpac earth plat (MC and amex) and wow edr
thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew, I've preloaded my Earth card to pay a large bill with no problems. Never had a problem with using it to pay ATO bills. I guess you can reload every night and then pay in the morning depending upon how quickly the sending bank pays, e.g. I guess it may be immediate from Westpac but other banks may take overnight.

Oh and welcome to AFF, hope you stay and enjoy the site.

I'd just be a bit careful with the WOW EDR card. There are people on this forum who have had this card cancelled for this sort of thing. WOW don't just deny the points, they actually cancel the card...

Not so far. Still 1.5 points /$.
I think you jinxed us. I received a letter from Amex today - Ultimate card will earn 0.5 points per dollar for ATO payments from 22 July.

... which means i'm cancelling it come 23 July!
