ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Beam only accepts VISA and Mastercards. you connect your card to Beem, and then using Beem, select BPAY and enter their BPAY payment details on. your credit card will see this as a payment to Beem rather than a payment to the ATO, to recieve full points rather than reduced/no points for government spend. as it is BPAY there is no surcharge for this.

limits are $2k per transaction. and their terms do state a daily limit, YMMV

Anyone had issue with beem enforcing to 10k rolling monthly limit?

O/T, I have a $50,000 payment to make (not ATO) and supplier charges 2% to cover their costs. Will not accept Amex unfortunately, only accept Mastercard or Visa.
Is it worth it for the points or are their better ways to waste $1,000?

2% for visa/mc?
sign upto yakpay and EFT it to them using your visa/mc, YP charge 1.2%+GST

Careful on BEEM. They have asked me to provide additional documentation in regards to my account due to regular payments

What sort of documentation and was it all good after that?

Still waiting on their response. Been 3 days now

Request doesn’t seem too onerous, but please keep us posted on the result.

Sounds like normal KYC checks to me.

Nope.

Account has been blocked. Was using BEEM to pay off some business BPAY bills and ATO etc.

Reasons below:

Currently, we are only licensed to offer our services to individuals, we are not able to offer them to any registered business entities, such as a Trust.

As such, we are unable to continue the business relationship at this time.

Caution if you are using Beem for BPay bills/ato etc.

Thanks for the update. I would think most of us are using Beem for the same purpose. At least someone may be able to argue a personal defence now that you’ve shared your experience.

Woah. I wonder if they deem personal ATO bills as being OK.

How much were you putting through per month?

Signed up to YakPay using a referral from @daft009 . The sweet spot imo is the Mastercard at 0.8% fee. The site is easy to use and you can schedule future payments. I paid $50k to a supplier today that had to charge 2% for card fee, but only 0.8% using YakPay. Brilliant. PLUS you get bonus QANTAS or Virgin points at the rate of 1 for every $10 spent. So in my case today and bonus 5,000 QFF points.
This is the link to the referral thread - YakPay Referral Program

Plus your account integrate with MYOB or XEROX reports

Personal STG. I offered to switch to business card but no dice. (Don't think it mattered)

Their reason was as my ABN was linked to a trust atf company.

There was no recourse nor discussion. Just instant shut down and a link to AFCA if I wasnt satisfied

I have made a couple of ATO and supplier payments using YakPay and very happy with the way it works for 0.8% on Mastercard. The additional Qantas points (or Virgin) are nice to receive as well. FF points are earned at the rate 1 point for every $10 spend. This is in addition to the points earned on your credit card.
