ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Just found the same issue here too. Not working for payments on ATO site but are working on other sites (like NSW land tax). Had found a friendly WOW store that was going to give me a steady supply. Looks like they have been blocked by ATO given we’re all ‘money launderers’. Guess WOW sales numbers won’t be supported by this anymore as I’ll only buy what I need for other bills.

Will need to get my Coles MC in gear for final few weeks.
 
Thanks for your contribution Schmucky. I don’t use these cards, but I think there has been a day or 2 in the past where they wouldn’t work. Have another try Tomorrow or Monday.
 
I was planning to give it another try on Monday. :) Will let you guys know how I go. The Mastercard GC can be purchased from Coles but they won't let you buy them with discounted Coles Gift Cards at the register. Also with purchases greater than $500 they will record details of ID etc.

Agreed while Visa1 is my preferred (though highest investment of time) way to pay ATO, if it’s in doubt, will use my Coles MC for final days before it becomes no good for ATO along with other Citi cards.

Shame they’re not a bank and will freeze your account if you pay it into credit. Will limit how much I can put through in the final days but better than RewardPay which will be the only method left (albeit with relatively higher costs).

I just tried with a card I have used several times elsewhere and it was also declined as you say. Hopefully just a temporary glitch

Have a $60,000 tax bill coming up this week . Anyone here preloaded their coles MC. We have only a $15,000 credit limit on it. Thought i might give it a last use before I retire it and go elsewhere. And thanks to for the heads up regarding the changes to this card. i had missed that email notification.
 
Start paying today mlob so the preload is less by the due date. Pay out to the limit then reload and watch the points earn if that is visible.
If Citi has taken it over already they are unlikely to give you anything else but dust.

Yup, seeing the same behaviour on my end as well. :(
Looks like I've now got to find a different location to spend the existing stockpile of cards.

Yep, just done this for a couple of smallish PAYG payments and the points came through fine, but almost certainly for the last time. 1VFF per $ with the current Flybuys bonus, with a 0.4% ATO surcharge.
 
Well that is a nice one. You could prepay too if you were a frequent flyer fiend chasing points at the lowest cost.
So it is Coles MC for a few days before Citi bugger it up.

Damn, just got through buying 60 cards and settled in for a lazy Sunday morning if front of the computer. Thought I had put in the wrong numbers. Damn.

Can confirm preloading the Coles MC works - did just this with a 800k+ tax bill. My FB balance has never looked so massive. Make the most of it while you still can!
 
so visa1 working this morning? anyone had a chance to try?
