ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I'm just about to pay a big insurance bill. Has anyone recently made an insurance payment with their Citi Prestige card recently and still received points? Thought I'd check before paying given the policy on points for insurance and given they've tightened up on land tax which was previously a fertile "government payment".

Had no problems 2 months ago with insurance Bpay payment (before they cuts points for Bpay transactions).

HAven't tried since

Maybe a test transaction will be interesting?

I have recently paid AIA (Life Insurance) Buba ( Health Insurance) NRMA (Property and Car Insurance) Woolworths (Pet Insurance) However I find navigating the Citi Bank rewards transactions reports confusing so I have no idea on how to tell if they actually have paid points. If any one knows how to check this I'll report back.

Anyone paying Customs Duty on a CC?

Paid duty on 4.5 boxes of wine when I came back from Cape Town wine regions recently.

Used Westpac Altitude black, but statement doesn't details if points were rewarded on that transaction only total points for month

For WBC - Go to rewards account , View your Altitude statement All details will be there.

You can check online either directly through the Altitude site or through internet banking. There is a transaction by transaction statement available.

I just use Bell FX as they can get the funds to where I want at a fair price and quickly.
May BAS will be interesting as two CCs have points earn changes on June 20 and the good news is I process earlier than that.

Off topic

I use OFX and the spread is pretty narrow. No points earned on this
As for earning points, I recently found out about the Octet but I think the cost to acquire the points is a bit high at 2.4%

Check post #6348

Thanks, wasn't exactly sure how recent it was.
I'm not a St George customer - to get the first year annual fee waived, it looks like the Complete Freedom transaction account is the way to go? Deposit 2k per month and withdraw straightaway? Kinda like the Bankwest Qantas account..

express freedom will do the job. $3/month or $1000 deposit monthly.

I am not sure if Bell FX adjusts their exchange rate based on the volume a customer puts through their systems over time. If this is the case, maybe interested parties here can form a consortium and approach Bell FX to ensure we get a decent exchange rate? I guess we all combined might approach the volume cove puts through them? ;-)

Just wanted to confirm that the Bankwest World Mastercard earned 1 point per $ spent at the ATO (despite their insistence that it wouldn't).

I'm happy I got in before the earn rate drops in ~ a fortnight.

NAB Qantas business card is out for statement cycles starting on or after 15 July. In the process of changing banks anyway so works out well, presumably will apply to their other business cards too.

Heading to SYD via MEL in business class on QF thanks to ATO on a Visa CC. I get Status Credits for the long cuts both ways from PER as it was from an offer. Very reasonable use of points is what I am thinking.
