ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Yes QCU CC works at what seems to be a $10,000 limit per day at a point per dollar
My fee free for a year WOW CC pays 0.625 points per dollar on a once a month $10,000 ATO payment (first $2500 is a point per dollar and the other $7500 is 0.5 points per dollar).

My ANZ Black card application got to YES this week so we will work with 3 of those cards in our family.
Have a new credit card holder......actually I bought 12 of the leather flip top ones at $8.95 each. I think I paid $75 from Oroton to have their logo on them a decade ago. So many cards for so many reasons......

I subscribe to a different view.

That is, the music will stop .... soon.

So, I don't mind the AMEX option to max my points.
As much as I want to be in total denial I think you are on the money legroom - it does appear that it is only a matter of time.

We are all going to need to be very creative going forward when the inevitable arises - but until then as always will be each to their own.

No two AFFers share identical needs, wants and desires - let alone identical travel, flight and spend patterns - so everyone will hold differing views on FF pts costs and benefits - some will prefer lower FF pts cost and others prefer max FF pts earn - whichever you desire max out your benefits at all times and disregard what others think - but best we are all aware the gravy train will most probably run out of tracks at some point in time.

When the music stops and the FX is still low - I'll probably revert to paying cash and earning in the traditional manner. If the FX is good - I'll buy points direct from airlines rather than banks.

Luckily, we've got a truck load of points ready to be tagged into the game, they'll run out around the same time as our kids leave the nest ... that'll reduce our point requirements by 50% - so it's not all bad news.

Reloading several cards as October is one of those end of quarters where we have to pay endless amounts on multiple entities. With Wespac cards the reloading is instantaneous but with the other institutions you have to wait a day.

Have two CBA Diamonds and just completed the mistake overpay round
Just time for one more trip around the park with these before the November finish
Then over to ANZ black from there

Thanks, Cove - was actually my 3rd, JS-inspired, suites trip and I wouldn't have it any other way than SQ, as CE can attest.
Bummer about CBA but doesn't affect me. Mrs D received her Velocity Plat Amex while we were away and the T&C say nothing about ATO being exempt from points earn!! Does that mean.......?

I'm sure all AMEX cards (non co-branded ones) earn ATO points, but just at 0.5pts/$. We figured out that the Red Amex Velocity cards says in it's T&Cs that it will earn 1pt/$ on ATO spends. However, no one has one to test out yet.

Mrscove has a 50,000 Miles offer for nix first year on an American Express US Premier Rewards card. Now this card has no foreign exchange fees but would only earn 1 point per dollar on ATO and that would be US dollars spent so no excitement with this one. We then had a discussion on whether we should get any more credit cards.

Don't think for a second that the kids leaving the nest will reduce your points requirements lol.
I left the nest long ago but that doesn't stop me from hitting up my dad when I'm short of a point or three lol

Amaroo I am flying six still and my wife is thinking she can add on an extra. You may be a little bit hopeful with your plan.

Found 2 pairs of 3M scissors in a drawer today. Too bad I don't have a CBA credit card to cut up in early November.

I haven't used my CBA card since getting my ANZ Black. Tempted to do one more payment with them & take advantage of the great rate promo for it too :)

Thanks for all your info on this thread guys - invaluable stuff. shoutout to cove. brilliant stuff mate !

ATO wise only - AMEX the old schoolers have the KF at 1.25, and the next best option i take it is ANZ black - transferring via VA
VISA / MC - ANZ BLACK - transfer via VA

for KF earning.
please correct me if wrong.
