ATO Credit Card Points Summary

I looked up the retail price for some flights we take so please don't do that in a hurry. I have a bit of a tax bill to pay on 21st so I am ready to get some Kris miles.

That value equation is what keeps me going. Wish I'd got into this sooner. Better late than never. Gift cards for me no more.

I'll keep at it for as long as it makes sense :)

This is a x-post from the other thread:
www dot australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/your-questions/ato-tax-office-payments-credit-17109-423.htm

What are the best cards that still give rewards points / QFF points for ATO payments?

Just wondering when you guys/gals accidentally pay your BAS twice and get a refund, do they refund the surcharge?

No just the ATO payment and none of the CC fee. It can come as a cheque but it is better to come as an electronic funds deposit.
I prepaid and just let it ride this most recent time.

Ah, so the refund goes into your bank account not back onto the card?

The risk of it going back into your credit card is that the transaction could earn negative points so keep away from that thought.

So you definitely don't get anything paying with diners? What about the associated MasterCard??

Ouch! They keep dropping like flies ... won't be long before they start playing The Last Post

Unless I'm mistaken, in the 'ATO payments' thread it looks like the HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card is the best replacement option for Woollies EDR (i.e. earning 1 QFF point per $1). There's a 20k points sign-on bonus as well if you're a new customer to the bank. Anyone aware of this not being the case?

PS For any of you who're somewhat pedantic...I'm questioning the supposed earn rate, not the sign-on bonus!

I've just had a couple of large ATO payments on the NAB Premium not honoured.
Ouch.

Shhhh.... don't tell anyone, but my NAB Velocity Rewards Premium credit card statement today is telling me that I have earnt points on ATO payments this month... points are yet to hit my Velocity account statement (hopefully overnight), but fingers-crossed the points make it there fine. 3 small payments each well under 3K.

I was worried this month when Woolies EDRCC delayed the points transfer. All ok now.

Visa or Amex?

Mine earned at 1:1 in late May last year. Since it's personal tax, I won't find out again until May this year, hopefully someone else has a more recent test.

Mrscove received an invite from HSBC so she lodged an application. Her $200,000 cap on Bankwest does not take long to use up so the $300,000 cap will be a useful addition.
We became HSBC customers to get a UK bank account.

Just have a question regarding CC applications. Just applied for CBA diamond last night, hoping to use it for ATO only as the amount of cards you can use is dwindling. Well I accidentally applied as I hadn't finished my application when it got submitted. Just wondering if the CC approval team or customer service can change things in my application or cancel and let me redo it? Hopefully it can be fixed up and approved and card sent out before last quarters BAS is due.

Should not be a problem but I wouldn't wait too long before you ring!

Well i'm a CBA member so I applied through the netbank portal and so I emailed/messaged them internally straight after it got submitted; this was all last night. Since it's the weekend I assume credit card team don't work weekends and I won't get a reply back until monday.
