I only ever use them when I am booking hotels that are not part of a loyalty program. They sometimes have competitive rates and can be good value especially because you can get their gift card at 20x from woolies often.

Had booked a cruise due to sail in September 2025. It was half the price of what I could purchase direct from the cruise line. This was purchased before the start of Societe.

I have more recently booked a good deal for the hotel the week before the cruise.

The first booking is not eligible for credits and points even though it hasn't been taken yet. The hotel booking is eligible. Likely it's more of a fluff benefit than something that would make me book if I found a better deal elesewhere. I usually check LE before other booking sites.

I have used LE a few times when a good deal came up. Even booked the Marriott Marquis in Bangkok as much cheaper and came with lounge access. Turned out to be a great deal as I did get a suite upgrade plus usual points.

And after a restaurant snafu a hotel car back to BKK.
I doubt that I will ever use the loyalty program and just buy on price.
