At the moment I can only access my AFF account and forums on my Android tablet. Whenever I use my Firefox browser on my new desktop PC I get a message along the lines of Error 1020, This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. There is a reference to Cloud flare Ray.

Has anyone had this problem, possibly generated as a result of the recent server issues?

We have an extremely secure network at home run on a Unix operating system but the same network lets my tablet connect but not my PC.

Any feedback appreciated.

Solution
I'm a Firefox user and no issues using the latest (version 90.0) but no issues with previous versions.

Try clearing the cache for AFF perhaps?

Not sure what you mean buy your network runs on Unix? That doesn't really make sense. Are you running Firefox in Linux perhaps? If so, what flavour and I can check if it works for me. Altenraivlty if you think its something on your router or firewall, then test your computer on a different network (hotspot your phone perhaps) and report the results. That will very quickly tell you if it's a network or endpoint issue.
Cloud Flare was what we were using to help speed up and 'cache' AFF. I believe the community (i.e. Xenforo) uses an in-house solution now, while the news articles might still be on Cloud Flare.

In any case, it sounds like the desktop browser has a different security setting to the Android browser – this could be as simple as changing a preference or updating to the latest version if it is outdated. You could also try a different desktop browser, if purely to troubleshoot initially. I realise a persons choice of browser can be very personal, but sometimes it can be necessary to see what works on others. You could try:
  • Chrome
  • Brave (browser)
  • Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Firefox (noted already using)
  • Opera
I apologise I can't be of any greater help on this, as you have noted it is most likely a problem – with a solution – unique to you.

Desktop chrome user here and Ive been having issues since last week

I blamed it on my my IT team and their last "enhancement" as I had to give them a list of customer portal sites to get access without issues
