Oh, as a WP I have never had a CSM greeting when traveling CX business ... I have has such as an SG or when travelling CX economy.

Fwiw, I've been steadily letting my QF status drop the last few 3 years from WP1 thanks to all the AFF tips and tricks. Having said that, I still pay for some J tickets and CX are my goto for most.

I would say I get a CSM greeting about 80-90% of the time, several Op ups to F and my most recent flight as a newly demoted SG received multiple greetings on SYD - HKG as well as HKG to SIN. And the new regional J seat is miles in front of any J seat in Australia.

I have now been on multiple CX flights in business but I am not sure if I have sampled the long haul product.

The CX regional business product is not superior to the Qantas product. Personally I prefer Skybed. I don't care about fully flat.

These have been my recent CX flights

- 747 herringbone. Awful but such a gorgeous aircraft. I will take it anyday
- 777 diagonal seats facing window. Is this the new product? This product is OK but not as good as Skybed
- A330 recliner seats. No different to refurbished 767s and I believe not as good as QF A330s
- 777 recliner seats? Similar to above.

My original comment describes perfectly why CX Marco Polo/Asia Miles cannot entice me but I will take the SCs on CX flights when I can get them.

Probably the "worst" lie flat J seats in business. Manageable on night flights where you take off, sleep, wake up, touch down. I found these really claustrophobic in the upper deck.

This is the new J. The direct aisle access alone trumps anything Qantas may have to offer, let alone at a comparable price

These would be the old regional J seas. The new seats have a shell back, seat back screens, and a leg rest that makes dozing on those 3-4 hour sectors that much more easy.

These should've gone the way of the dodo if they haven't already.

Not anymore to my knowledge. I was under the impression they removed the 747 from that route awhile back. Happy to be corrected. I fly virgin coast to coast as their J seat is far superior to QF's offering.

It is available at times when the A330 flies that route. Sky Bed Mk 1 is superior IMHO to the Virgin sloping lie-flat. The problem is the Virgin product is more consistent (excluding XFB/XFA)

Yes, when operated by a 333 and some 332's.

I doubt there'd be many skybeds between the east coast and PER at all if not for VA's 332's.

Ok thanks. I wasn't even aware of that. I seem to recall flying a QF a330 SYD-PER which didn't have a Skybed. Mind you, I would still prefer flying Virgin on that route as the seat is more consistent and newer. I'm not a fan at all of the Skybed MK1

One of my biggest disappointment was getting used to long-haul CX J before getting onto a Skybed Mk2, but I'm sure I've told that story to death. Each to their own, I suppose. My own orders are:
Long haul J: CX Cirrus > CX coffin > QF skybed (both types) - I have a rather small build so the coffin suits me well but obviously, YMMV.
Short haul J: much of a muchness.
Y+: QF > everyone else
Y: comfort level depends on amount of alcohol consumed, although I'm quite a fan of the QF net that seems to be a love it or hate it thing for most pax.
