April 1 - Anyone's status drop down yet

There have been reports of the option not being selectable online despite attaining a new level if the benefit has already been used at a different level, ie a once off regardless of status change up or down. Or it could well be cough IT, something of a disease in the travel industry that's running rampant.

I did report in another thread that after dropping from VA WP to SG the opt in for HH gold option wasn't showing, but this did then change a week or so later.

My problem now is that I (in hindsight somewhat stupidly) opted in to HH Gold while I was still HH diamond through the VA promo offer. So I was a diamond requesting an "upgrade" to gold through the exact same promo that gave me diamond.

So now I'm silver almost 3 weeks after opting in to HH Gold and I'm not exactly sure how to explain this tangled web I've woven to HH. To make matters worse I cant find the email from velocity confirming the opt in.

No card yet.
Status still as Gold

(I had quald Silver but was still a few nights off Gold on all metrics) but am already 6n/4s for 2014

Also dropped from Diamond to Blue overnight. :(
Oh well it was fun while it lasted! A couple of great stays with Suite upgrades at the HSW :)

I wonder how long it takes to run the process through the membership database.

Which process?

Has there been a change I don't know about? My status is still showing Gold. Should I be concerned?

The process to reassess all the accounts to their new status obviously!

I am not sure why everyone is worried? Has there been a change to reassessment? If I opted in to Hilton Gold in April 2013 should I expect to keep that status until 31 March 2015?

People have opted in earlier and have had to rely on stays obviously

I dropped from Diamond to Silver last April, despite almost reaching Gold though stays.

Had to use the VISA HH offer to get back just to Gold (and again almost got enough points to stay).

Webpage is saying that to achieve Gold for 2015 I have to stay 40 nights..... does this mean I have Gold until Dec14??

Do you have -20 stays this year?

As for your query you can't tell from the account display - given you use of the VA befit last year you will likely be Gold until March 31st 2015 (unless you reach Diamond).

Counter resets to zero at Jan 1, and I have zero stays this year.

I used VISA advantage status match last April, so have no idea how long I have

I have a new VA gold match up my sleeve until Oct if that fails

As others predicted, web site now blue, matching my card but not my mood! The pleasures of Accor through Europe await!

So is my assumption correct?

AFAIK yes. Based on anecdotal evidence reported here in the past if you opted in from April 1 onwards (possibly even from Jan 1 onwards, but I wouldn't test that unless I really had to) in year X, then you will retain the status level you opted in at until Mar 31 in year X+2 (unless of course you increased the status level in the meantime by virtue of qualifying nights/stays/points earn)

Just wondering how long it takes Virgin/Hilton to process the change in HHonors status if I take up the Velocity benefit?

It's definitely from January 1st of year X until March 31st of year X+2.
You must reach the re-qualification level from 1st Jan until Dec 31st Year X+1 or you will drop to the level earned in Year X+1 at end of March in X+2.

Similar experience to the others - ~10 days.

I think when the match first went live it was taking a lot longer - possibly because they were flooded with match applications.

Who do you call if it is slow - HH or Velocity?
