Applying for an AMEX

I'm planning to apply for an AMEX gold cc, and so I was wondering if they are currently doing any promotion at all. If so, where and how can I apply through the promo?

There are still promotion around; I received a 17,500 bonus point Qantas Gold Amex leaflet in my QFF statement mail out yesterday.
