Random Musings here: I currently have iPhone 5S on $60 all you can eat plan with VF - yeah yeah I know many hate VF but it is perfect for me - so $7/mth over 24mths = $168 for 16GB 5S.

Kogan are advertising 16G 5S this morning for $779 and 64G for $999 - jeezuz - I am almost at the conclusion the iPhone now totally overpriced.

Yesterday I found some SERIOUS deficiencies with iPhone - in particular Photo Stream - HTF do you access this in iCloud? HTF do you email multiple pics from your Photo Stream on your iPhone without selecting each one individually? I can add multiple pics to SMS simply - but email so hard.

Don't forget that $60/m you're paying includes more profit margin than if you selected only a sim-only plan with similar value.

I don't use Photo Stream, but you should be able to access via icloud.com in a web browser. Since the photos in photo stream probably came from your camera roll you could just select the photos from there to email.

Photo Stream is not designed to be accessed directly like Dropbox.

To email photos from photo stream I click the 'select' button (top right cnr), select the photos by tapping them, click the 'share' button (bottom left cnr), select 'email' icon and away I go.

Ps: I can usually access my Photo Stream images within a few seconds after capture, on my iPhone, iPad and MBP as long as they have wifi or GSM connection and are switched on.

I love it.

Thanks Robbi - so simple - I feel such a tool.

As I said on the $60 plan I get iPhone 5S for $7mth.

Yes but it looks like VF offer an all you can use voice/text/vm + 3GB data for $50 on sim only. If that is comparable to your plan then that means you are actually paying $17/m for your iPhone (it's being subsidized by your $60 plan). If you go somewhere else, like say Amaysim it's $40 for unlimited which means you're actually paying $27/m for your iPhone... Just pointing out it's easy to get tricked by the telcos 'deals'...

Appreciate your assistance.

I can upload on my iPhone 5s (25mbit+) faster than I can download on my ADSL2+ at home....
I've had around 102 on Telstra too on the Gold Coast, the week after the iPhone 5 was released (ie, before LTE became more mainstream).

I'm averaging around 18-20mb in MEL CBD though which is more than enough. As you have too, my upload is always a lot faster than my ADSL :)

I have been on 4G for over 18 months and I have noticed my speeds have dropped.

At the start sometimes I was getting over 100 MBPS download middle of the day and upload speeds over 20 and 30 MBPS.

Now you only see those speeds in the middle of the night or early in the morning.

IMHO 4G in Capital City CBD's are as slow as ADSL 1 at peaks times like around lunch time and from 3pm onwards.

I have no problems with Telstra in MEL in peak hour. It's not lightning but it's 100% usable (compared to 3G which was not, I couldn't even check my email).

I don't use it to tether much so it doesn't bother me. It's always over 2mb though every time i've noticed it's 'slow' (which is well above ADSL1's 1.5mb maximum).
