not sure if this has been asked, but can you have both the anz black and anz black Qantas card at the same time and still get the offer? Or should i cancel the anz black (non qantas) first?

You can have both, in fact ANZ Travel Adventure is also counted as a distinct product so you can have as many as 3 ANZ cards at the same time and get bonus for all 3.

ANZ have updated the offer on the Frequent Flyer Black Card.
It is now 120000 QFF points with $7500 spend in 3 months
$425 Annual Fee with $150 cash back.
Plus 75 bonus status credits when you book 2 Qantas flights using the card.
Offer available until 31 March 2019.
That's a nice offer and one I'll consider once I've seen out my exclusion period. I'm chasing Lifetime Status and the 75 bonus status credits would be handy.

Applied for the current fee free offer yesterday.

Today I got a call wanting to verify every detail that I had provided in the application.

Was told that payslips were insufficient and that they also required bank statements.

Also in the application form I stated I had one current card with a $5000 limit. They said they could see from my credit file that I had another card with a $15,000 limit. I had cancelled that card earlier in the week and told them of this. They seemed to accept this and didn't require any proof.

This is becoming a frustrating process.

Another call today to tell me that they hadn't received all of the documents that I sent yesterday in response to their request. Checked my email and could see that I did things correctly. But have been forced to resend, which of course delays the process

Yesterday they asked me about a St George card which I cancelled a few days ago. Today they asked about a Westpac card which I cancelled more than 6 months ago. Seems that credit files are not being updated properly and access to the new data is causing more problems than its worth.

Or, are they starting to scrutinise credit card applications as hard as home loan applications...?

In my case they don't seem to be doing so. Just over cautious in dotting those i's and crossing those t's.

I had supplied them already with documentation requested and made sure that my cards had been cancelled before making the application.

I'm confident that the application will be approved, but getting tired of being mucked about.

I think the Westpac group is one of the most sluggish with updating credit files with CCR.

Still no sign of CCR info for my Westpac group cards on Credit Savvy, still only the applications I made.

Application approved.

Welcome back arrived in the mail today. Letter was dated October 25. So seems the two phone calls to me weren't needed and they didn't need the additional information that they were asking for.

More importantly, it appears that they place no reliance on the information contained on your credit file. They claimed my file(s) said I had 3 cards open. I had only 1 card open. I declared that in the application. They appeared to take my word for the fact that the others had been close. At no stage did they ever ask for any evidence of this - which I could have easily supplied.

Did you wait out the exclusion period? I seem to be in that period for almost everything. :(

Card received in the mail today. So exactly 7 days after application was made.

Yet to receive my PIN. Does anyone know if this can be changed online or do I have to go to an ATM/in store to do this?

From experience with several cards over the years, you have to go into a branch to sight ID.

This is what I had to do in the end despite insistence from ANZ that I could try ATM
I think you can use an ATM to change the PIN if you have the existing PIN.
Usually the card arrives before the PIN does and if you want to use it straightaway, going into a branch is the quickest method of activation, assuming you can get to a branch with ease.

Of all the ANZ cards I've had have always had to go to the bank. I have just got the Adventure Rewards and we think we received a letter with a PIN but aren't totally sure (if we did it turned into a paper aeroplane). Despite all that, there is no facility on the website to change the card PIN.

You can definitely change ANZ pins at their ATMs, I’ve done this the last few times I’ve applied for this card. You do of course need the original pin though.

Thanks all. I'll wait another day for the PIN. If it doesnt arrive I'll visit a branch.

ANZ seem behind the times with this approach. I know for other cards you can set your PIN at the time you activate the card and then change it online whenever you like.

I am trying to decide whether its worth going for 75,000 points for $0 (as the Internet banking Offer) or the 120,000 for $275 (after cash back). The 75 status credits don't mean much to me as I am gold with VA. Not sure the 45,000 (extra) points for $275 is a good deal...

EDIT - This would be a keeper card for a year giving a solid 1 QFF per 1$. With the 120,000 option, I also need to for out an additional $65 for the wife. The IB offer if fee free including supplementary cards...

Points for free vs points for $$$. No brainer for me.

Never met one of these.
