HI fellow F/R class travellers.

Has anyone flown the new F suites on 777er-refit yet?

Care to give some comments in relation to these compared to Suites on A380?

How can one tell from the seating maps on SG web site if you are likely to get the new suites on 777 ER Refit?

Is there any way?

77WN now flying to... - Page 2 - FlyerTalk Forums

suites preferable imo as cabin is obviously lot bigger on A380. (haven't had opportunity to fly refurb'd suites but really enjoyed my suites experiences)

Its a pot of luck I guess.

I have incoming F Sydney - sin - hkg. SQ222 and SQ231 I personally choose this flight, hopefully can taste the new ER

I thought seatmap with J 'mini' cabin is the 77WN?

Seat map on 77W and 77WN are identical

Current routes for the new planes, of which there are 4 9V-SWV,SWW,SWY,SWZ, are NRT,LHR.SYD and very occasionally on other routes. The SYD service is on SQ231/222 and started as a permanent service in jan. The newest plane 9V-SWZ only started flying last week and went to LHR for its first outing. The arrival of this plane now frees up the fourth destination which is MEL starting officially in march but already this week SQ227/228 has been flown by a 77WN.
Of course late equipment changes happen.

Hope this helps

Tks Danger for the detail.

Have SQ 222 to SIN in June and then onto MXP, so I guess it will be the old metal for the second leg, SQ222 for that leg is A380!

Any idea if seat map would give it away for 77WN

Flew (what was the newest bird at the time) two weeks ago HKG-SIN. Was in 1A and took a couple of snaps.

They had a much superior inflight wifi system to the A380. It was powered by T-Mobile and was S$16.95 for three hours unlimited. From memory it was around S$21 for the whole flight. The speed was so much faster than on their A380s and also not only limited to 20mb.

The bathrooms were stylish obviously smaller than on an A380.

I prefer F on the 777 as the service is generally better in my experience. More personal and attentive.

When I boarded my A380 connecting flight to SYD I was disappointed in the condition of the Suites cabin. It was looking very tired and worn out. Cleanliness also wasn't up to scratch which I found surprising out of SQ's home port. The bathrooms in particular needed some work, they were almost falling apart. Wifi also was slow and limited to 20mb.

Unless you are traveling with your other half and want the double bed, I find the service on the 777 superior and on a refit/new plane the cabin will probably be in better shape.

Great reply Vantage03

Flew suites each way between SIN and CDG a couple of weeks ago and they were the new leather seats.
Suites were in great shape too

I'm travelling on SQ237 on 11th March 2015 on a first saver award and my wait list for SQ227 just came through. So by the sound of it I could get lucky with a refitted 77WN bird if I change to SQ227. Does anyone know the difference in the first cabin between a 77W and a 773?

No difference in the set up it's still 1-2-1 in the cabin the difference is in the hard product...supposedly more comfortable on the bum and in bed mode and better recline on the seat. I have not test driven it yet so passing on others comments. Mrs UXB was lucky enough to fly the new bird about 10 months ago to LHR, The best bit ....the upgraded amenity kit!!!! OH was the plane different I didn't notice!!!

Flight number and destination???

Yep there are a few weeks mid year when the schedules change a bit. Even the 380 makes a return to MEL all be it briefly

I had heard there is a refurbed 380 out there and it was mainly used on the CDG route. How does the dark brown leather look in the cabin?
Plane changes occur all the time, yesterday SQ306 to LHR was changed to 77WN, usually it is SQ318/319 that gets the regular 77WN service

03 April SQ222 Sydney - Singapore

11 April SQ231 Singapore - Sydney

Yep you should be ok baring late changes.
222/231 is due to change to 380 in late June /early July for a short period of time

Then with the introduction of premium Y in mid August it will get a bit messy with 380 and 77W both starting

My guess is these will be refits rather than new planes but who knows
