Hey all!
I'm thinking about Christmas holidays and where to go.
Does anyone know if JQ has any domestic flights leaving from Melbourne or Sydney international terminals around that time of year?
It would be nice to start our trip with a first lounge visit - I'm not travelling much at the moment, so would be good to make the most of it before my plat membership expires!
I had a look at Melb-Syd, and Melb & Syd to Cairns (both of which I've had luck with in the past) - but couldn't find any.
Any intel would be appreciated.
My other option is to fly to Cairns via NZ!

Hi all,

I'm flying on JQ14 KIX-SYD then going on 3 hours later to JQ17 SYD-MEL (same booking)
I'm a bit stumped. Will we collect baggage at SYD or will it be transferred as it's Intl flight -> Int'l terminal...? Do we exit T1 at SYD entirely, recheck bags then go back into T1 as a Domestic passenger flying internationally? It's not very clear anywhere on what will happen. Any advice/experiences welcomed.

Do a oneway search, you can enter multiple origins and destinations.
Press the advanced controls and enter aircraft t:787 in the extensions code.
Finally select the first day of the month and change to "see calendar of lowest fares"



Results will look like this and when you click on a date you'll see the flight.

Tried this process with same criteria ( Just SYD/MEL) and no data displayed from 1/5/26 or 1/6/26. Any help welcome

I'm in ... may be an AFF meetup sort of a last hurrah for the JQ access to F lounge? As long as JQ doesn't cancel the flight. Last 2 times I tried flying JQ international to a domestic city - both times flights cancelled and routed via a domestic JQ

Update to this: I'm booked to fly 24 April 2026, JQ63 SYD-MEL.

Believe the 24 April is the last scheduled JQ 787 domestic as international flight within the relevant period.

Obviously still some other JQ international flights to NZ, Indonesia, Pacific. The last two flights on 30 June being Queenstown (3pm) and Rarotonga (9.30pm)

Also for those looking to fly SYD-PER lots of QF5/33; opportunities over coming months, but that's not going away.
