Annual NZ Dinner: WLG 7 March 2026

Yep, I have had a bit on the last few days, but the table in post #3 should now be up to date.

I will ring the restaurant this weekend for the final numbers, so this week will be the cutoff.
Oh, I should add - if anyone has dietary requirements, please PM me sooner rather than later to I can let the restaurant know when I ring them with final numbers.

Any plans for Saturday lunch? I've never been to Wellington before and have no plans.
I will be interested in lunch. I have been to Wellington a few times previously but generally have just wandered along the waterfront until I found a restaurant that looked interesting. Those that have responded are all at the same hotel so should be easy to organise with the assistance of @jswong.

Several places to consider

Home — Cabletop Eatery is good for casual food with great views. Good to combine with a trip up the Cable Car Home and a walk back into town through the Botanic Gardens Home

Coene’s Coene's Bar and Eatery | Waterfront Restaurant in Wellington Central on Oriental Parade is a nice spot on the waterfront. Only a short stroll from town but would likely need to be booked

The Maranui Café Home | Maranui Cafe is one of Wellington’s most popular cafes but is out of town but fairly easy to get to by bus. Possibly needs support after the sewage disaster Wellington mayor swims at Lyall bay to prove beaches are safe after sewage spill

While here you may wish to get to the Mount Victoria lookout https://www.newzealand.com/nz/feature/mount-victoria/ . Possible to walk or even bus but I am happy to drive people up for the great views

Many many other places to eat and things to see. Happy to answer any questions

Thanks @jswong . Cable top eatery ticks the boxes for me.

But saying the exact location is TBA, those who are and will very likely stay Platinum for a lunch c1:00 pm please indicate (and location preference) and I'll look to book somewhere by next Sunday.
