Options HBA-CHC-HBA on Qantas, other than for a 6am departure ex CHC on 7th March, is $600 more expensive in J than what I booked in July, even with so-called sale and saver fares. So even with a movie voucher, might be expensive to get extra DSCs.
Look at one ways fares. Ex CHC the fares can be very different to the inbound of a AU-NZ-AU return fare. Ex NZ is paid in NZ$ so may have cc forex fees (depending on your method of payment).
I very rarely fly MEL-CHC on a return (ex AU) fare.

I looked today at flights to and accommodation in CHC for the dinner. I had been watching the issues with accommodation pricing and now with the DSC promo the (J) flights available are not of interest, so I booked the same weekend, but in AKL !! CMA222+1 and I will be having a fancy dinner somewhere in AKL at the same time as the CHC dinner. Maybe next year.

They have flights from AKL to CHC you know. 😉

There are now 15 confirmed for dinner, so if all the "Gold plus" confirm we are full.

@Bundy Bear @DejaBrew @hutch @Major and @NZ_Flyer please let me know if you are able to upgrade by the end of the weekend. If not, that is fine, but I will then throw it open to everyone else.

If you are not @Bundy Bear @DejaBrew @hutch @Major or @NZ_Flyer please hold off confirming until Monday to see how many places left there will be.

Barring some unexpected life event, I'm definitely making the trip.

Booked into the BreakFree. Looking forward to my windowless experience sleeping in a closet.
