Not 100% correct.

The points will sweep to your account approximately 5-6 days BEFORE your statement cycle date.

You can work our your statement cycle date by the last digit of the middle block of numbers. This is outdated, but close enough:

I stand corrected.

That's a nifty link regarding the statement cycle date uproared. Do the other numbers on the card signify other information about the account?

Re: AMEX Velocity Platinum Card - 110,000 Points / $349pa / $1000 Spend

As some of you are aware, this started as an 80K bonus for a few days, and then rose to 110K bonus, under the referral link. I called AMEX and said that I didn't think it quite fair that early adopters should be penalised as many many more people signed up under the 110K bonus.

AMEX apparently agreed as they have said that they will provide me with the extra 30K points. So, anyone else who got the original 80K ... go for it and let us know how you go.

When did you apply for the card? I applied for mine on 1 June and emailed AMEX to request the difference but was denied.

I also emailed and was denied. So, after someone else here mentioned that they had phoned and got the points, I rang. I was told that it was all a mistake and that they should have been in my account weeks ago and they' would fix it. So, I will be keeping my eye on it as they are not here yet.

I got my card in early July and spent the minimum $1,000 within a week or so. My first statement was issued in late July (with a balance of >$1,400), but with zero points transferred (not even the 1 point per $ on my spend, never mind bonus points). When I log into my account online now it still states "Velocity Points Transferred: 0".

That's obviously a concern, but when I click on "View Points Summary", it takes me to a list of transactions, which shows the expected 1 point per $, plus 80,000 bonus points on the transaction that took my total spend over $1,000. That suggests those points are on their way to me, perhaps just prior to my next statement? However, it still seems odd that no points were transferred last month, and it makes me worry that there is a problem - plus of course the bonus is 30,000 less than what I was expecting.

I realise numerous people have phoned and/or emailed about this sort of issue, but I'm nervous about doing that, as I am one of the people who currently hold another Amex card. In light of that, I'm reluctant to call up in case it might prompt someone to say "actually, you're not eligible for any bonus points in the first place". Has anyone else in my situation called up about problems receiving the bonus points?

Whist I'm a 'new' AMEX customer a similar situation happened to me (met spend requirement, statement issued, zero points transferred to Velocity, points showing on AMEX site).

Called up and they suggested deleting and relinking the Velocity account number and the points appeared in my Velocity account in 48 hours.

Thanks for that - so it does sound like there is a problem. Just to clarify - were you able to deleted/relink the Velocity number yourself via the website, or did the Amex person have to do that? I'm guessing the latter, as I can't see any way to do it online, in which case I suppose I'll have to chance calling them!

Negative. I had to call up and speak to an agent to have the delink/link done.

Anyone else denied the 110k points because have held the same card in the past 12 months?

Got the points with an existing DJ card (declared). Very pleased!

So I called them today and they said there's no problem, it's just that I haven't reached my first points transfer date yet - that's coming up next week. So it seems I'm all good to receive the points showing online, which includes 80,000 bonus points. I didn't have the nerve to ask about the other 30,000 points I'm due - yet. Does anyone know if I would be correct to think that once the points get transferred to Velocity, Amex can't claim them back? In other words, there would be no risk calling about the missing 30,000 points once this lot is transferred?

Re: AMEX Velocity Platinum Card - 110,000 Points / $349pa / $1000 Spend

I signed up yesterday using Trippin's link. Got a text message congratulating me on being approved around 12 hours later. Then a few hours after *that* got an email saying that it was being considered. It all looks a little back to front.

I don't know, but maybe you could take the flight as well and use the 2 lounge access passes. ;)
