I am shortly going to cancel the amex platinum charge card, i have 500k points on it,

i am after some suggestions about wher to transfer them, i am a qf platinum ff,
i travel mainly in Asia or to London, does anybody have any better suggestions than qf,

when travelling long haul i mainly travel in j with the occasional dabble in f,

any help would be appreciated.

QFF would be a good place to put them and then utilise them for OneWorld Awards (do a search on this site for more details), these are generally agreed to be the best value here for redemptions I think

if you didn't want to transfer them to QFF, there is always Asia miles (get the free MP Gold as well). then you can book it via that and just put your QFF number in for OWE benefits..

Consider to Malaysian : 102 K return to London in J. They are about to become a Oneworld airline, and so you Plat Status will allow F lounge access. J not at same standrda as qF or SQ...but you will get a lot more flights.;)

Also to Krisflyer: you can then fly in J on SQ or to other *A airlines such as Thai. will cost about 60-80% more, but still cheaper than QFF. As you will have a J ticket it will not matter as much not having status.

J award availability via these non-QFF programs is much superior to QFF.

Shame about the excessive fuel fines on MH, which coupled with your quoted rates make 102K look not so good.

I don't follow??

MH fuel fines in the examples I have seen to London are about the same as QF.
To fly one way in J it is 51 K in points on MH vs 128 K on QF.

Also on MH there is easy availability to get J seats vs difficult via QFF

Why does a 102 K in J not look so good?

thanks guys,

am interested in the Malaysian solution even if i park enough for a couple of return flights, how easy are they to get in j, and does anybody know what its like in Business class.

I'd put them with Qantas...

Or perhaps wait a month/three to see if Virgin have another transfer and get 20% bonus special, PLUS to see what they offer with Singapore Airlines for reward seats! As they are going to open up Singapore fights for reward seats to/from Europe
