We have a platinum reserve with one primary and one secondary and this platinum edge with the same two people as primary and secondary

This 10 pt per $ spend is pretty bloody good. Trying to think of ways of maximising it, but honestly my spend at Priceline won't really give me an opportunity to do that.

Re: Amex Platinum Edge via priceline, no fee first year, 13500 bonus pts for $200 spe

I am planning on buying some gift vouchers for some xmas presents (teenage girls who need presents - probably not suitable for anyone else).

Re: Amex Platinum Edge via priceline, no fee first year, 13500 bonus pts for $200 spe

Just trying to clarify based on what I have read in this thread.

My Dad Currently holds a Velocity Platinum Card. If he applies for the Platinum edge card under this promotion and delcares he already has an amex card he should still get the 13500 bonus and $0 annual fee after spending $200 at priceline. Im just confused becasue I thought you had to be a new American Express cardholder to be eligible for this offer?

Thanks

Yes - family member had the velocity platinum card (declared its existence on the new application) - also applied for priceline platinum edge card recently. He got the 13,500 points.

Tha is very interesting. I guess it must be a glitch?

Has the annual fee also been waived since they met the priceline speed requirement?

The annual fee waiver is part of the offer - not conditional on anything. No, he didn't get a fee.

thanks for this

Couple that with the Velocitiy Estore and you've potentially got 12 points to the $1!

I'll not be lazy and go and look, but are you saying Priceline is an e-store participant and that by using e-store it still recognises the amex card purchase to gain the $200 Priceline spend for the extra points at 10/$1 and then award another 2/$1, or are you saying use e-store for any purchases after the initial $200 spend?

I applied yesterday for both club membership (I'm a brother ;)) and the amex card, which was approved instantly......unlike the ridiculous amount of time Macquarie were took for JQ card and Hilton card.

I had intended to shop on-line as it looks like Priceline take amex without issue for on-line purchases.

Yes I believe someone here has tried it and was successful. I too am still trying to maximise priceline points, I think the best value is when perfume goes on sale. Great gift ideas as Christmas is coming up. Alternatively you could purchase insurance through priceline (not sure how good they are, -> T&C)

now if only priceline started selling apple products...... ;)

Re: Amex Platinum Edge via priceline, no fee first year, 13500 bonus pts for $200 spe

if i understand this card correctly, 13500MR points = $100. Thus 1pt = $0.01
If you shop at priceline with this card and you get 10pts meaning $0.10.

So everytime you buy something at priceline you are essentially getting 10% off + the 3-4% sister club cash back? i need to open an online store just reselling priceline purchases

I was excited about the 10 points per dollar but find their prices are quite high, especially compared to places like chemist warehouse. My local pharmacist agreed to match their price on a prescription for me when I first started going there with my card but I feel he is losing patience with me.

I signed up for this card two weeks back. Card arrived last week, brought some prescriptions in-store, and brought some cologne online (during the sale). Prescription and fragrance was cheaper than Chemist Warehouse.

Points arrived within a few days, and by Friday I had transferred 15,800 to Velocity (taking advantage of the 15% bonus). They're already in my Velocity account. I've also booked a PER-MEL-PER trip for August to redeem the free flight.

I'm very happy with this - considering it cost me nothing, and I didn't need to go out of my way to purchase things I wasn't already going to. As a data point, I already have the Amex Velocity Platinum card too.
