Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

You do you. Everyone runs their books differently.

You're trying to say that any FBT should be payed on points/bonuses earned on any business expenses. So why do all these payment gates like pay.com.au exist then to pay your BAS and ATO bills.

Obviously there is a benefit out of it which is allowed.

They are flying very close to the line. Strictly speaking, pay.com.au fees should not be tax deducted unless you are also paying FBT on the points (or the points are being used to offset business travel expenses).

I've got no doubt most people are dodging the tax rules here. Personally I'd be surprised if Pay.com.au (or any other platform that is essentially selling frequent flyer points) survived serious scrutiny from the ATO. The whole value prop is tax arbitrage. Pure tax leakage with no economic benefit. There's an angle from which you could say they are marketing a tax avoidance scheme.

I’m not sure why you have a personal vendetta against these types of services you have mentioned it many times but it’s not fraud. I can guarantee you 10000 percent that pay.com.au and all these other services have got rulings from the ATO to ensure they are complaint and that they are not breaking any law - a business associate just got some tax rulings from ATO including services such as this to ensure they were compliant prior to setting up a business. No one would ever offer these services legitimately without doing their due diligence.

As others have suggested feel free to do whatever pleases you - the services have existed for I would say the best part of a decade and I’m sure they have turned over serious volumes overall.

Not an accountant at all and I leave that to the professionals - I pay my bills and hand over paperwork to accountants to tell me what I can and can’t do.

I have a moral problem with it.

How do you justify asking the taxpayer to subsidise your personal luxury travel?
When the money is being used to pay for a heap of 325k blue steel bins in melbourne, or 1.5b of it sent to ukraine, which doesn't really help the tax payer... suddenly i dont feel so bad anymore.

But thats for another discussion

Yeah agree, nobody should ever pay tax because some of it isn't used ideally 👍
