Hhaha! Long time lurker - this is a very helpful forum for many things but I've been the one learning and everytime I think I have an extra tip someone else is already onto it!!!Welcome @SPM - You must take a record for the longest member without posting a single post
Sorry I don't have a DP on that - am curious as well
Joined in Jan. Asked but didnt get joining fee waived off. Having said that the savings so far on some of the perks I am getting have made it pretty worthwhile.Has anyone managed to waive the joining fee recently? If you have, what is the best way to request this?
I see this was possible in earlier occassions but they do not seem to be doing this recently?
Any idea of the perks?Joined in Jan. Asked but didnt get joining fee waived off. Having said that the savings so far on some of the perks I am getting have made it pretty worthwhile.
I think they were posted here before but the main one for me is the RM. I travel 3-6 months of the year and they just do everything for me. I still book some things by myself but they are particularly good with local help and the Centurion FHR program gives you guarenteed upgrades at time of booking.Any idea of the perks?
Anyone know if the RM for Centurion MUST book via Amex Travel? Or if I provide them with travel authority as a Platinum One QF member they can do it through there (for DSC periods etc).I think they were posted here before but the main one for me is the RM. Guaranteed only for some hotel chains. They can't always get me into the top restaurants.I think they were posted here before but the main one for me is the RM. Agreed, and I also travel pretty much permanently Monday - Friday. I get my RM to book me a basic room at one of the Centurion FHR hotels in the city I'm visiting (various - China, HK, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, etc). I typically get a good upgrade confirmed immediately plus the chance of a further upgrade at check-in (i.e. I stayed last week at the St Regis in Shanghai, booked a basic room for the cheapest rate and was upgraded to a very nice suite). They also seem to have no issue appending my Bonvoy / Hilton number to the bookings to maintain my status with those programs. Further, I typically get a US$300 credit at those hotels for a 2+ night stay which offsets some meal / spa costs during these stays. US$300 x around 40-50 stays a year goes some way to offsetting the annual fee.I think they were posted here before but the main one for me is the RM. It can take weeks or months. That's if you fall within the eligibility criteria. If you don't hear back, you didn't get it.A colleague of mine recently filed an EOI for the Centurion Card via the website chat function (if that makes a difference)
She's not on this forum
I offered to check with the brains-trust on her behalf ......
I can see from previous posts that if she is unsuccessful she will simply not hear back from Amex. But, for those of of that successfully lodged and EOI could you please advise the time frame in which Amex responded; a week, two weeks, a month ... ??.
And by which method were you contacted - phone, email, post?
Amex didn't ask and she didn't say, but she is going on a business trip for a couple of weeks and she's now worried (because it's been 7 business days) that if they contact her by post she will miss a deadline to accept, that sort of thing. She assumed that if Amex accepted her EOI the process would be relatively quick
I didnt keep track of my timeline but from memory you will get an email from a human saying "hey you expressed interest lets arrange a call"or similarA colleague of mine recently filed an EOI for the Centurion Card via the website chat function (if that makes a difference)

Thanks, that's excellent - just the kind of info that she's after. I'll pass it onI didnt keep track of my timeline but from memory you will get an email from a human saying "hey you expressed interest lets arrange a call"or similar
You have a month or so to complete the application.
My first offer came in a fancy letter with some merch I think but the 2nd was just email.
It will take longer than 7 business days for them to contact her, I think my 2nd one was 2-3 months? I believe they have "cycles" during the year where they offer it to people. Once she accepts and joins she gets the card within a week from memory
Sydney landline. Thanks, that's excellent - just the kind of info that she's after. I'll pass it on
(not sure but I think its the first time that she will have had the card)
