Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

Has anyone managed to waive the joining fee recently? If you have, what is the best way to request this?

I see this was possible in earlier occassions but they do not seem to be doing this recently?

Hhaha! Long time lurker - this is a very helpful forum for many things but I've been the one learning and everytime I think I have an extra tip someone else is already onto it!!!

When I got mine in July 2024, I was told they won't waive it anymore, just something they did during COVID

Joined in Jan. Asked but didnt get joining fee waived off. Having said that the savings so far on some of the perks I am getting have made it pretty worthwhile.

I think they were posted here before but the main one for me is the RM. I travel 3-6 months of the year and they just do everything for me. I still book some things by myself but they are particularly good with local help and the Centurion FHR program gives you guarenteed upgrades at time of booking.

Anyone know if the RM for Centurion MUST book via Amex Travel? Or if I provide them with travel authority as a Platinum One QF member they can do it through there (for DSC periods etc).

Guaranteed only for some hotel chains. They can't always get me into the top restaurants.
