Emirates has my favourite J class amenity kit at the moment. Brown leather-looking bag with shaving cream, razor, deoderant, toothpaste, toothbrush... things that I actually use.

The QF ones are disappointing - I'm not a lip balm, socks, eye-mask kind of guy.

I think you'll find the SQ "kit" is only a pair of socks...they rest of the stuff is either in the bathroom or on request (eg ear plugs)

...definitely the worst J pack out there.

SQ bags are cough, if they can't do it properly they shouldn't do it at all.

I have raised safety issues on SQ as well given their response to the A380 RR issue.

They took off on a closed runway once.

Aren't we all different? :) I don't usually use the socks nor eye-mask, but there are a few people who do, particularly the latter, and you'd be in trouble if they removed them!

Don't see how you can pass the lippy - that cabin does get surreptitiously dry....

Deoderant is something certainly amiss in many kits. No real idea why.

As for QF J - don't they still give you toothbrushes and toothpaste? As well, I thought razor blades and shaving cream were available upon request (same as F kits)?

The Ethiopian bag is excellent, as is the Monarch one, the purple colour is a bit hard on the eyes though.

Ethipoean was one of the great airlines of Africa. Managed by PanAm ot TWAam for the most part.

I wouldn't be surprised they looked after premium pax

I've received a few different airlines kits when flying and a few given to me by friends and I agree with the comments about Emirates J kit being the best at the moment. As a wash bag they are great for reuse and the contents are great.

Whilst the QF contents aren't the best, the QF J cases (the Marc Newson ones I'm talking about) being a hard case are spot on for carrying Camera chargers, cords, iphone chargers etc; I use one now when travelling and I can get all the gear I need including converters and the like in to it.

For what it's worth I'm told that the VA J class amenity kits are fantastic. I've yet to get one but apparently they come in a laptop shoulder bag and have all the gear that the EK J class kits have. They look quite smart actually as I spotted one when we flew Y+ on VA a month ago. Come to think of it the VA Y+ kit was actually pretty good. A little fold up bag with 2 compartments that had toothbrush & paste, socks & eye mask, earplugs, mouthwash and maybe something I forgot but it was still a nice little kit for Y+.

Cheers,

Boof

coolumbla, your fingers seem very dyslexic with the word the.

I have the same problem with the word chnage!:oops:

I tend to never use anything in these kits at the best of times as I tend to fly Y and they have nothing of use in them. What I would like them to include is a pair of ear plugs!! that would be a highly useful addition.
