Hi all,

I recently became Priority Club Gold Ambassador.
I have read in other threads that Ambassador Benefits only apply to InterContinental Hotels. I have not found this to be the case.

I have received 4pm checkouts etc staying at Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza. Was I just lucky, or did the Hotel staff not understand the rules? Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers

Technically, Ambassador only applies to Intercontinental branded properties. Most likely that they did not understand the rules, so don't expect that you will always get these benefits. But if they are there for the asking.....

Late checkout is a benefit of Priority Club Gold status and since you have gold status you are entitled to late checkout

Under the published Terms and Conditions ( Priority Club Rewards Hotel Reservations | Global Membership Terms and Conditions ), 4p.m. checkout is a privilege of the ambassador membership. Specific hotels may give it for gold, but it is not actually part of the Terms of the program.

Hmm...2pm is a definate listed benefit for PC, I had thought that gold had 4pm, my bad.

Ambassador benefits are definately IC only so I suggest that they are just offering it based on PC level rather than being Ambassador

Thanks for the clarification guys. I also posted another question on Priority Club without a reply. Maybe you guys can help with this:

Can someone help witha few PC queries?

I notice with Priority Club, it is possible to automatically collect Airline miles or transfer the PC points to Airline Miles at a later Date.

  • If choosing the automatic "Opt for airmiles" option, do all PC points become airmiles? Does this include points received from promotions etc?
  • Qantas is only available as the "Opt for miles" option. Other program, say Singapore Airlines can "Opt for miles, of be transferred at a later date. Is there any difference in the Redeeming Rate if you choose to automatically "Opt for miles" or transfer them at a later date? I understand that there is probably a significant time lag in the "Transfer at a later date" option, but I'm just curious about the value of the transfer points.

It's a little confusing as Priority Club includes ICH as well as Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn etc.

Ambassador only applies to ICH however includes upgrade to Gold Priority Club. Certainly the 'free' weekend night voucher you get as part of your membership will only be good for ICH.
