All International Arrivals into Australia to self isolate for 14 days

This Australian Govt. Dept. of Health page shows, about half way down, that the majority of overseas based infections in Australia were acquired in Europe. With Cruise Ships running a close second. The 'Americas' were the third most common infection area. N.E. Asia only contributed a very small percentage.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) current situation and case numbers

I wonder if another very important reason Taiwan has done so well is that they banned Cruise Ships very quickly - in early February in fact..

This article compares Canada and Australia. Both countries reported exactly the same occurrence and growth - for a time.

Opinion: Canada and Australia: A tale of two COVID-19 responses

While those in authority say we have a long way to go in this pandemic, this article seems to confirm that we have made good decisions overall. Yes there have been mistakes, and as the article suggests, happenstance may play a role as well, but at this point we have plenty to be thankful for. One issue they did not discuss was the "National Cabinet" arrangements which seem to be one of the key success factors here.

If you fly into Sydney from the USA, you must do 14 days quarantine. But if your final destination is South Australia, does that mean you have to do another 14 days quarantine upon arrival in Adelaide? That would be 28 days stuck in a room. Is that correct?

Yep. Currently. Although the last 14 is self isolation. At home.

The difference being if you are a SA citizen, the 14 days in NSW will be in a hotel at gov expense with constant gov surveillance (first arrival point), on return to SA in your own home or a close relative's home at your own expense and own cognisance (with some checkups by police, maybe daily) .

Until last week Tasmanians who flew into Australia from OS had to do 2 weeks mandatory quarantine in a hotel in the city of arrival and then 2 more weeks in a hotel on arrival into Tasmania unless an exemption on essential or compassionate grounds when you were able to self isolate at home.Fortunatly now Tasmanians can self isolate at home.

Are there are current experiences with arrival in Perth people can share? It's not clear whether there is a cost or not and if so, what it is. This news article makes reference to a bond, but again not how much it is and what it covers.

There's no information about it in the WA Health FAQ.

There's been a few reports in this thread of WA charging, although I'm not sure other states are?
WA 'closed' it's borders so they have decided a couple of days ago that anyone arriving after 2359 tonight I think it is, is incarcerated in a hotel and will pay $$ for it themselves.
Our 14 days isolation at home went ok with only phone calls to granny, friends and family. It really wasn’t too hard but it sure slows the clock down a bit.
Come over to PERTH after midnight Sunday night (I think) and you might have to pay for two weeks accommodation as our State Government does not want you to come and has put in major travel restrictions for all of us locals with few exemptions.
