Also waiting for a status match from QF Gold, will be flying Vietnam Airways to the UK in September on personal travel and think this should get me lounge access and other benefits.

Yes it will, you'll have access to one of the lounges in the INT terminal as well as the general priority as per other alliances. VN are notorious regarding policing the elite benefits too

Thanks thats good to know, I've just chased up with Alitalia and submitted my Air Berlin and Etihad Guest Gold cards as well...

Hi Jsoprano, same deal with me, I applied on the 29 th and heard nothing but checked tonight and when I viewed my card I had been status matched so I'm guessing they don't bother to tell you when it's done.

Checked my Millemiglia account but doesn't look like I've been matched yet. Will keep checking.

Btw - where does it mention the status on the account? Couldn't see it anywhere, but when I bring up the membership card to print, it's the standard green one.

I jagged March 2017....the expiry date of my 'matching' membership is end April 2016.

You will get an expiry date of status (31.03.2016 for me) on your profile and the status symbol will move right.

Applying closer to end of year may get expiry into 2017, I think.

I sent through a second request after I hadn't received a response and that may have worked for me. Also, I changed my site access details to Italy (English language) and voila, my gold card appeared under my profile ...although the last step may have just been a coincidence

You just need to match to a card which expires after 03/16.
