I wish SA Aldi and Costco were allowed to sell alcohol here although a while ago Aldi were challenging the law on the basis of own brew.

Yep, label changed a few months ago.
Still tastes the same. Well at least it did last weekend.
Will try some out tonight (just finished back to back evening shifts )

I buy it regularly and enjoy it very much. Was chatting to a friend on the Gold Coast yesterday and was also recommending she try some of the Aldi whites. Her husband does the shopping and alleges that there's no grog section in the store he goes to. I allege male blindness. Who's right?

If they've dropped it it's not because of copyright or branding issues. 'Veuve' by itself is not protected.

I was put onto making this dish by @bossreggie a few years ago.
It’s even better if you have the Monsigny as an aperitif for the Chef

In the interest of research I dropped in at the Aldi on the way from today's walk.

The Veuve (Widow) was still on this bottle.

I must say I wasn't a huge fan of this Champagne. However, there is a bargain at Aldi right now - the Blackstone Paddock Pinot Noir 2017 from Tasmania. At $14.99 it is a bargain. A friend who is a burgophile reckons it is very good. I have bought 2 dozen.

The Premier Cru version is even better and still good value at $30.
