While we wait for Adrian to find out the horrible reality and post back serfty, would you mind wandering a bit OT and explain how you get that image from within EF (I have a subscription) . I get a different type of image in "Seat map" so no doubt its a different type of search.

If you get the MK1s I would be writing a very strongly worded email to QF to complain. It's one thing not getting the product you were hoping for, it's another not to get the product 2 separate QF staff have assured you you will receive!

It will be mk1. They still run these birds on SYD-HKG 3/7 days (and sell old F which ought to be outlawed!)

Well, as I kind of expected, it was the underpant-wedgy Mk1. These things are getting pretty old now. Small screens (I can't remember if they are any bigger on the A380). My tray table was on a definite downward slope, kind of matches the bed....

At least when CX do an aircraft substitution, I still end up with a flat bed, aisle access and a large screen.....

Off topic, I am not a real fan of the new menu. The food that I ate was actually very good, but there was only one starter and one main on that menu that I would have eaten (glad they hadn't run out). I am not that fussy an eater, and usually there are at least 2 mains on any airline menu that I would be happy with. Dessert wasn't spectacular - either a tiny tub of icecream or cheese.

And I haven't not have flown QF J for a while, so this may have changed a long time ago, but what I really liked about the QF breakfast was that you could choose your individual hot breakfast items. Now there isn't a choice - its just one hot dish of scrambled eggs, bacon & mushroom. You can still choose the individual cold breakfast items.

There will be. I fully understand the need for aircraft substitutions. But I don't like it when 3 staff (including first class check-in) assure me that they are fully flat Mk2s....

The hot breakfast choices are on offer with QF2 in J.

It could be they simply weren't aware. For many agents a Skybed is a Skybed is a Skybed ... they simply don't fly or care enough to know or relate to the Mk I / Mk II difference.

It changed nearly a year ago but instead of offering pretty much the same components every flight, they introduced two other hot breakfast options like pancakes, omelettes etc. There are 3 hot options now for breakfast.

I know there is only so much you can do with breakfast, but the F breakfast ends up looking the same as the J breakfasts!

Another example of AFF provided more accurate, helpful information than the airlines.

That's not true - CX still have their regional config going around, hence the statement isn't quite true for the intra-Asian routes.

Slightly off topic

Could EF alert you of a plane sub (assuming you set an alert for your seat) before QF called you?

Has that happened to any EF subscribers here?

A seat alert might, but wouldn't necessarily be triggered by an equipment change and I've certainly never had a call from QF to inform of such.
But any AFFer worth their salt (read OCD) would surely be well ahead of the game.

Sorry about that, you are correct. There were 3 hot options - I think there were also pancakes and maybe porridge? I got it mixed up with them not offering the individual components any longer - I miss the spinach

Yes we were unlucky to cop it last time we flew.

Makes the new CX J seats look great.

I love the new CX J seats. I even love the old CX J seats, not quite as much as the new ones, but still more than Skybed Mk2.
