One for the aircraft buffs....

Are there many hush-kitted 727's using Tulla these days? Would these be mostly cargo? I believe that the 200B's have all been sold off to poor(er) countries.

I'm just browsing through AS2021 and the list of aircraft types seems a bit outdated.

As for 722 at YMML, the only ones there now are those of Australian Air Express that do, as serfty said, maninly YMML to YPPY and occasionally Brisbane, Darwin and Tasmania - but they now use their 737F for that...just thought you might want to know

I was at MEL on Saturday and the only cargo plane around was a 5Y 747-200. Not an XM or 5X aircraft to be seen.

According to Wikipedia

Australian air Express have begun the phasing out of the 727s and they are being replaced by specially modified/converted Boeing 737 aircraft that were formerly part of the Qantas fleet.

Also, as of September 2007 the only aircraft operated by XM are

Boeing 737-300F4 (1 on order)Taken from the Qantas fleet 2006-2008 and converted into freighters

There are currently four Boeing 727s on the CASA Aircraft Register, being:

VH-VLH (registered to National Jet Express)
VH-VLI (registered to National Jet Explress)
VH-DHE (registered to European Air Transport)
VH-TBS (registered to Aviation Australia)

However, the last on the list has had its CoA cancelled, so it not currently operating. this is the oldest of the 4, being manufactured in 1969 while the others being 1980/81.

The earlier mention of Boeing 727 VH-TBS. A couple of weeks ago I drove past Aviation Australia at Brisbane airport and can confirm that that aircraft won't be flying again. It is used as a training aid for techs at Aviation Australia. I believe that the previous config of the aircraft was as a freighter config.
