The news article mentioned states, "AirAsiaX will be a true no-frills airline with all-economy cabins with a "denser seat configuration" and slightly less leg room than most full-service airlines, although passengers will be able to pay extra for seats with a bigger seat pitch." I didn't think that was possible, but it will create a lot of movement in the aisle when pax want to exit their seats etc

Just came out at news.com.au:

I guess there will be bloodbath between Jetstar and AirAsiaX (and maybe Tiger)?

Caught AirAsia between BKK-HKT last month and has no problems ..... Maybe I will give them a try ...

I am not so sure that Tiger has the same aggressive expansion plans that AirAsia have got - from what I have read they are a more conservative outfit.

I note they talk about fast turnaround times, but just how fast can you turn an A330 around in? Bit different to the A320's that flit around Malaysia.

Cut-price airlines landing like flies - Travel - smh.com.au

I like the following line:

"Mr Fernandes predicted his airline would offer MYR (ringgits) 800 ($285) return fares from Australia to Kuala Lumpur on a sustained basis, easily undercutting the $990 return fares offered on the Jetstar website yesterday."

I wonder if that price includes taxes?

Not sure how viable Avalon is as ai International Airport at the moment
