Wondering what people's thoughts are of the new PE seating on the ANZ newly refurbished 777-200 are like.

Booked in about a week to fly AKL to Vancouver, original the aircraft was one that had Space-seats and about 4 weeks ago got notified of the a schedule change of 5 minutes but the plane and seating had changed too.

When I went and did a bit of digging it seems we are on the "new layout" version according the PE layout 2-4-2.

Anyone flown in the new fit out 777-200 in PE seats?

Still have today to make a bid for a one up BP seat.......just wondering if with the new PE seating it is worth the difference.

Fleetz

Better than 3x4x3 of economy. ..

Actually the reports I have seen of the new PE in the 772's are pretty complimentary ...

If you want a one-up for a flight next week you have not long to make a decision ...

FWIW, the space seat has widely contrasting views - better since they gave it 15cm more pitch than originally commissioned.

Cheers for that is the 772's you mention the 777-200 new layout?

Just to confirm the jargon?

772= 777-200 new layout
773= 777-300

Thanks for the links reading them now.

As serfty as suggested, the PY Spaceseat on the 777-3 is a very unique product that people either love or hate. The new PY on the 787-9 and 777-2 is more 'traditional' but has been considered to be a market leader still with 41-42" seat pitch, 19.5" seat width, and a 9" recline.

The way Air NZ are actually identifying them is;

772 = 777-200 old layout
777 = 777-200 new layout
773 = 777-300

I believe the 772 re-fit is all due for completion by Oct/Nov. You can tell the difference from the seat maps. Old layout is 3-3-3 in PY where as new layout is 2-4-2 in PY.

Yes thanks only have today to decide if I want to poke an offer in BP seats. Currently showing on a dummy booking their are 9 seats in BP available. Currently showing only 15 in seats in PE. There are probably 25 seats vacant in Y.

So my math says currently a good chance of being successful PE>BP? 15 possible PE that could offer for 9 BP seats. Of course always a chance the BP seats could be sold being 8 days out from take off, but people would be paying full price.

Not sure how ANZ play the one up game? I am Silver with ANZ and wondering if you were I and wanted to bid on a BP based on current PE and BP numbers where would you be?

According to a NZ fa on my flight the other day, he believes that the new seat is far better than the spaceseat

Cheers......I can see 2-4-2 when I log in and select seat selection. Already changed the seats that ANZ selected for me when they changed the aircraft on us. So the aircraft must be a refurbished 777-200 (777) otherwise it would be a 3-3-3 in PE as I read it?

Whether you're successful or not with One-Up comes down to other bids and naturally availability, but as a silver, I believe you get a 'bonus' applied to your upgrade. Through the process, there is a gauge telling you how strong your bid is. Check out the details at OneUp - Flights - Air New Zealand

Yeap, that looks correct to me.
