AI308 (0125 hours DEL-MEL on Wednesday 17 DEcember 2025, B788 VT-ANY) was in the sky at 0211 hours so gate arrival tonight becomes approximately 1929 hours, 34 minutes late. The aircraft had been in DEL since about 1745 hours the previous afternoon. There's a quick 95 minute turnaround envisaged in the timetable so it's likely to not be met for returning flight AI309.

AI308, the 0120 hours early morning DEL-MEL on Wednesday 11 February (B788 VT-ANA) did not take off until 0352 hours. Gate arrival tonight shoud be about 2049 hours, 109 minutes tardy. Another B788 must have failed as the previous flight for this plane was AI148 from Paris' CDG to DEL that arrived at gate this morning at 0117 hours, 22 minutes late.

AI309, the return trip from MEL to DEL scheduled to push back at 2030 will be delayed until at least 2220 hours.

On Friday 26 March, AI308 (B788 VT-ANH), the 0120 hours DEL down to MEL took off at 0200 hours so gate arrival becomes 55 late at 1955 hours.

AI309, the 2035 hours return flight will be delayed until at least 2130 hours.

Saturday 16 May 2026 has seen AI302, the 0120 hours DEL down to SYD with B788 VT-ANV take off at 0411. SYD gate arrival should be 105 minutes late at 2010 hours. AI301 returning to delay is the 2000 hours predicted to push back at 2230 tonight.

AI302, the Tuesday 14 July 2026 scheduled 0210 hours DEL-SYD took off at the unfortunate hour of 0344. SYD gate arrival for B788 VT-AND was 2004 hours, 59 late. This will form the 2035 hours AI301 back to DEL that should depart more than an hour late.

I've not monitored every Oz-bound or originating flight but AI from a limited sample has had quite reasonable punctuality lately.

However on Monday 3 August 2026, AI308, the 0300 hours DEL-MEL did not become airborne until 0617. B773ER VT-ALK should arrive at gate tonight at 2225 hours, 165 minutes late. This is the first time I've recorded an AI B773ER delay. Yesterday this flight was 64 late arriving in Melbourne.

In theory this should not delay the 0130 hours redeye, AI309, back to DEL given the multi-hour allowance for a turnaround, again showing the value of international flights not being given quick turnarounds where feasible.
