Air Canada Seat Selection

I am trying to do seat selection for an upcoming Air Canada flight (YUL-LAX). As a velocity reward booking I get free standard seat selection - however when I get it the end of the process I cannot click "I accept, purchase". Have tried on desktop and mobile versions, and nothing takes (I'm thinking maybe because there is nothing to pay?)
Has anyone encountered this? Are there any other airline websites which can be used for seat selection (i.e Ive used Royal Air Maroc for OW seat selection before when JAL.wasnt working).

I'm not sure what to suggest other than perhaps to try calling Air Canada?

I did call AC one day but gave up as their on hold message kept telling me how busy they are.

Try calling around 8-9pm Australian Eastern time... that tends to be when I've had the best luck.

Just in case someone has the same problem in the future...

I just tried to do seat selection on an Air Canada flight booked using Velocity points. Couldn't do it on the Virgin Australia website and the Air Canada website gave an error, but Air Canada were able to select a seat for me over the phone at no cost.

I also had this issue recently and just messaged them my booking details via social media along with the seats that I wanted (after checking they were free via ExpertFlyer), and heard back from them very quickly with confirmation. Easy!

I am having exactly same problem at the moment. Before calling them, do you mind to share the social you were using is Facebook, Twitter, or another different one? Thanks

Facebook - they reply quite quickly.
