SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Couldn't get PE seats on the day flight to Melbourne for next year, so we've ended up with overnight to syd. Not thrilled but we need to be home on time, and no J availability (nor did we have the points). At least its not Y...

I am so over o/n flts in F - esp SIN-MEL - much prefer spend a nt in SIN and take J on 217 regardless of what metal

Deliberately took Sin/Syd on way home to Hob because its longer than Sin/Mel option - but last nite's flt was 7H ttl and thats just too short.. No brekkie this morng, just a cuppa and on yr way out the door sonny boy.

O/n flts SIN-SYD / SIN-MEL in R or F just a total waste - if 2nd sector of a booking o/n in SIN then access TPR pre SIN dep and enjoy a good couple hours incl bf and a few Rares then just enjoy the daytime J exp. Remember you are not restricted to bf as exactly listed rather request Chefs to prepare whatever variation you want - if they have suitable ingredients they will accomodate you.

If you are concerned about TPR access restriction when you arrive on 1st sector go explain situation to TPR Manager and they will arrange it for you.

Slim pickings for awards in and out of AU for J savers 😞

Well it is not impossible, but early this year, I booked 4 * J SYD-SIN-HKG on J Savers for Christmas Eve.

Recently I just booked 3 * J DAD-SIN-ADL + 1 * J SIN-ADL in mid January 2027, all on J Savers. I had to buy 1 * Y Dad-Sin in cash for myself.

The outbound to HKG was booked as soon as the reward calendar opens, and the inbound one was only booked a couple of weeks ago. I suspect that SQ added ADL flights or just opened up J Savers.

The good thing is that there are no overnight flights so we will enjoy J. The bad thing is that we need to overnight at SIN on the way back, so I booked Changi Transit Hotel at T3 for $523 sgd for 12 hours for 4 of us.

I bought ADL-SYD on VA Y separately. I guess we all need to be flexible.
