I therefore think the idea there will be a significant increase in the numbers who take up Auslan is a bit of a fantasy.

I agree, but that is the position of Deaf Australia and advocates for the Deaf.
It is one of the several reasons why i think Cochlear has never had a significant uptake of implantation rates.
Even with a Cochlear implant many children learn Auslan because there are situations where the processor (the outside part of the Cochlear) cannot be used - such as swiming, or watersports.

That is a spectacularly risky buy. The chart has been telling you since August 2024 that the price is going down. The price dropped over $70 just today! There was also a large price drop in mid-February.
