AFF Member Stock Discussion

Not a fan of TWE as their leading products are not competitive in the Australian market. I am on their call list and often pass on the purchase offers as their pricing keeps going up.
Their champagne is not rated by @Cruiser Elite so I haven’t bothered to get any..
Couldn’t get the taste for Daou reds in California.
Some of the Margaret River reds are better value and a fraction of the 707 and Grange pricing.
Actually I buy a fair bit of twe's Seppelt Salinger Vintage, 2018 I think is the current release (not to be confused with the Salinger NV). Maybe Cruiser elite sticks to the "real" French. Sorry ot.

We bought FRI sub 70 cents and have lost interest once they moved up into the eighties. So many trades are occurring for just a few shares in many stocks that I don’t understand. It isn’t just FRI.
We are now in John Deere country in Iowa for a visit.

In the AFR ths morning, hedge fund Ten Cap is shorting EDV (dan murphy et al.) citing lack of leadership.
Sensible move. That stock is going nowhere but down at the moment.

With 20:20 hindsight, one could have been shorting it since around August 2022!

WEB is looking like it might have finished the downtrend. Tempted to buy in.
I’ve made some good money on WEB over the years, for some reason the share price moves a lot despite being a pretty consistent performer (ex the Covid years of course, but buying at $1.7 and selling at $6.8 was a highlight).

I was going to buy - see my previous comment about EDV but decided against it
Hrdlicka might have a plan (when she finally starts work next year) which the market might buy, and possibly might work.
A cynic might say doing nothing to support the share price now, "helps" (📉) the base starting price in CEO meeting share price KPIs.

I'm already in
Bought in yesterday as it does look like it has bounced. In the money today so happy with decision. Research I read a month back suggested travel would improve over next 12 months. In any event it's not about airline travel but hotel bed aggregation.

I was a bit relieved now that WEB has moved up a bit. We bought around $4 and they were easy to buy as a big holder was a relentless seller.
Our Viking Mississippi boat has stopped as it is going thru another lock to get up the river.

In the Wall Street Journal there is an article about just how difficult the US wine industry is in 2025 with falling consumption and over supply of grapes. The Canadian market is gone. Wine prices are getting cuts.
Now TWE bought Daou so that looks like very bad timing.

Monday in Australia our ASX may be pretty ugly based on our futures being quite negative.
We have arrived at Saint Paul MN after our 800 mile plus ride up the Mississippi on Viking. Some passengers started in New Orleans but we started half way up the river.

I looked at HMC in June/July and decided against it. It's moved lower since that time.

With the buy in of Mario Verrocchi, I've decided to get on today.
