Earlier today we migrated AFF to the latest version of Xenforo. No doubt, you’ll see that there have been some changes – mainly cosmetic, but some “enhancements” too ☺
The first thing you’ll notice is that the default style is different. But you can change this to “AFF Style (Classic)” which is modelled on the previous version and would be more familiar to many users. Feel free to select your preferred style and you can change your preference at anytime.
The cosmetics of the site will change, depending on the style you select. But the same functions will be available in both styles.
The default style is “AFF Style” which provides some customisation options (eg. Background colour, fluid screen width, sidebar placement etc). You can select this at
All features and functions (with one exception) from the old system are still available – but possibly in a new place. The exception is the additional post rating options (such as Agree, Winner etc) introduced last September which were not part of the core Xenforo system, so are unfortunately lost. Apologies for this! The standard “like” rating has come through. The good news is that the new version has its own enhanced rating options that you can use going forward.
Other changes include a new Calendar feature. This is useful for easily displaying social events. There is also a “quick thread” option at the top of all forums that allows for the easy creation of a new thread with as few clicks as possible.
To help you get around the new system, support has published a GUIDE.
As with previous upgrades, there might be some minor “teething problems” in the first few days. So please bear with us if things aren’t 100%. Feel free to post any issues you find, your comments, of feedback HERE.
