I think you will find there will be ample Platinums travelling back at that time so you will more than likely be guested into the BNE business lounge. I think serfty is on the same flight as you back to MEL.

awesome - all going well ill be WP by then too, but always good to know there is a back up! :D

The itinerary is relatively firm as per OP although venues have not been finalised.

- Pre-dinner Drinks and Dinner (different venues) for both Friday and Saturday nights and some sort of cruise or drive for Saturday morning/afternoon.
- Sunday will more than likely be a golf game early morning followed by lunch at Breakfast Creek so people from interstate can have a quick getaway to airport.

The main organiser is too busy going away on holidays so hopefully something will be firmed up when he returns from New Zealand ski trip some time end of July/beginning of August.

I guess this will be a hot topic of discussion at the Brisbane drinks night next week....

How very inconsiderate of him :!:

No one else here would do that sort of thing :!:   :D

I shall endeavour to bring as much info with me to drinks so we can make a move on firming up plans.

I know, terrible behaviour. I will have a drink for everyone in the lounge tonight though… *goes off to open another bottle of red*

After a brief but slightly detailed discussion with samh004 via facebook and email, list me as silver please, I will look into flights tomorrow maybe

Move me up to Platinum. Not yet sure if 1 day or the whole weekend.
Will definitely have to be at the golf as part of the meets entertainment program.
Mrs.dr.ron will also probably be along to at least 1 dinner.

Expedia sale on, 50% off for Hotels on the gathering dates. Just nabbed myself the Hilton for $500 All-in prepaid including breakfast. Much better than the $700 or so showing on the Hilton website.

Edit: occasionally for me, the next page would come up in Japanese.. I'd just reload and it would go back to English... weird.

This may be available for someone to hopefully take off my hands, as I'm likely now to be out of the country when this is on. Will be able to confirm in 2-3 weeks.

Regarding plans and tonights gathering, there was a lot of discussion and most of the weekend is now sorted, however we wont be releasing venues until we have everything locked in. So stay tuned, but also, don’t worry.

For those who may be interested there is a Pat Benatar concert in Brisbane on the night of Wednesday 20th October.
Which was the night we were thinking about having special drinks in Brisbane for anyone coming to the gathering early.

Something about Octoberfest and the German Club....

A true AFF'er would fly back.

Flying from LON, just to go to an AFF gathering where I may not be welcome anyway would be a big thing to do

I guess I should let people know now. I've made a big decision, have done a few things in regards to my business, and will be moving over to the UK to live / work for the next 6-24 months :)

So to add to that... if someone would like to take my hotel booking off my hand, I don't really care if I don't get what I paid for it, but I'd rather get something, as opposed to nothing :).

Have you asked the Hilton if they will transfer the booking into another name :?:

Give them a reason to be helpful and you never know they might just do it for you. ;)
