That seems very expensive. I would have thought a taxi would be about half that. I live about the same distance from the airport as going to the city and a taxi costs me about $25. Scope Swan Taxis.

The Hilton indicates $50 estimated taxi cost each way. I seem to recall it actually costing me $30-35 each way for a taxi when I was there a couple of years ago, maybe a little more for the one from the hotel to the airport being for a 5:15AM flight out.

I'm only seeing four pax on VA685.

Could be 7 if we were to wait for samh004, chicka and TheBOSman. Who are all on QF. However I am not familiar with PER, so have no idea what the logistics of meeting up with people who arrive in a different terminal

True, however 7 people arent going to fit in one vehicle anyway.

They're messy. QF domestic and VA domestic terminals are now on completely different sides of the airport and runway. Think T4 and T2/3/5 at LHR. Much further than, say, T1/2/3 and T5 at ORD.

Other than MEL and ADL it seems the other busier airports (SYD/BNE/PER/AKL) in Oz/NZ are absolute messes in terms of layout...

Any suggestions on getting into the city from the airport? Uber quotes at around $45-60, though with four of us flying in on the same flight, not so much an issue.

Bus 40 or 37 run every 20 minutes from just outside the Qantas terminal, takes about 30-40 depending on which bus you take and where you get off

I think price was $4.20 or so can pay with cash.

Uber should not be that high, I would think mid 30

I am seeing six VA arrivals between 14:30 & 16:05 on the 11th.

But, 6 is probably too much ...

The QF terminal is 20 minutes away by bus.

Price is $4.60 cash.

Route 380 runs to/from the VA terminal ½ hourly.

Might have a drink in the arrivals lounge before we venture into the [-]city[/-] village! :p

J, but likely to have a checked bag. It won't have anything other than clothes in it though so I won't mind it making a few cycles on the baggage belt :D.

Looks like bus for me, as I appear to be the only one on that flight from Sydney.
Nice way to see the city - if I get a window seat.

I might also check a bag, unsure as yet. Never managed to get around the HLO idea.
