Aeroplan Devaluation - June 2026

Aeroplan has barely anything available nowadays I find.

No EVA, Thai, Turkish etc
There’s still Thai, just not that great ex AU at the moment, but that might be due to ME issues.

Found SQ all the way from UK to Australia next year.

It’s looking like the good alternative to aeroplan is buying flights ex Asia ATM. Especially with the $2200 business class returns out of CGK.

Doesn’t really make sense to use Aeroplan.

Damn, thought we were onto a winner.

To be fair, AC does offer redemption on many partners that you can mix, even cross-alliance (to some degree), plus the stopover rule is still nice. But this still isn't great news. Search engine is still pretty good (well, at least compared to AV LM).

I did find a TG ex-AU last year, and funny enough less than a week out (around Christmas). Probably more fortunate than anything else, but there we go. The climate around the ME might not be helping at all (BKK is getting a lot of through traffic thanks to the war).

Running out of *A partners for viable redemptions.......

Does this apply to bookings made 1/6 onwards or flights 1/6 onwards?
If you can book now at the current price for a future flight then I can spend some of the points that I have (I have way too many AC points to let go to waste).

Anything booked post 1 June will be at new rates, flights booked before then will be at old rates

Thanks for the confirmation: that's great to know! I'll definitely look at this when I return from my current trip in a couple of days' time.

What are the chances of there being bonus points before June 1? Anyone got a crystal ball?

They had one last year in May. But the prior one was also a bit earlier (Feb 25 instead of March as it was this year).

Maybe wait a day or two to see if anything drops on the weekend?
